All smiles this Friday after seeing our sweet Asher and hearing that he’s growing a week AHEAD of schedule 😭🙌🙏

With a previous history of fetal growth restriction there was a 30ish % increased chance of it happening again. It’s an understatement to say that we are so thankful that it doesn’t seem like growth is going to be an issue this time around 🙌.

I never googled FGR when we were being monitored for it with Hannah because my doctors told me not to - they were adamant that she was probably just a small baby since I didn’t have any of the typical risk factors. After she was born it was clear that for some reason my placenta had stopped growing with her and at some point started to detach - which is why she was a full term baby who looked and functioned like a preemie. It’s blowing my mind that at 28 weeks Asher is weighing only about 2lbs less than Hannah was a birth 😳 I can’t help but wonder how different labor and delivery is going to feel this time around....

A few months ago I made the mistake of googling FGR 😬😬😬😬😬..... And let’s just say I was very thankful I didn’t know that information with Hannah. I had so many anxious thoughts and asked a handful of people to pray that they’d go away and that I could rest in the joy of knowing that God was fully in control of something I couldn’t control. It’s been a solid month of no anxiety, and I know I shouldn’t be, but I’m once again shocked by the power of prayer.

What a relief it was to hear normal growth today and we are praising God for how he keeps defying odds and building our faith through our babies.

As a precaution, we’ll still get monthly pictures of our boy and I can’t say I’m upset about it. Ugh, his cheeks and lips are already to die for.

Sledding round 1 on NYE: epic fail.

Sledding round 2: she had a blast 💥. I’m sure being in the company of her BFF helped. She hasn’t stopped talking about “ha-e” (Hadley) since we left. Looking forward to the days were we can do play dates again but also kind of loving that we’re being pushed to make more memories outdoors.

Plus, I’m pretty sure watching toddlers waddle around in snowsuits makes the cold significantly more tolerable.

In true 2020 fashion, we couldn’t have a gender reveal without a hitch 🤣

Crappy weather + a COVID exposure meant we had to cancel. Fingers crossed that we can tell our families this weekend because I’ve almost spilled the beans on several different occasions.

Anyone else terrible at keeping secrets?

Shot out to all the covid brides that still manage to put on incredible weddings.

Congrats Kelsey and Nick. I’ll be dreaming about those bundt cakes for weeks 🤤

In our 5th year of marriage we learned to believe in miracles.

In our 7th year of marriage we learned that miracles can happen more than once.

In 3 years we’ve seen our 0-1% chance of having a family of our own shattered by the grace of God.

We’ve been sharing this journey from the moment we heard those odds and for those of you who have followed along we hope that our story encourages you to believe that our God is bigger than any diagnoses or percentage. He is a way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper and our light in the darkness.

Our unexpected SUPRISE arrives April 2021.

One of my favorite things about parenting is that it has given me so much insight into the character and wisdom of God. I could share a handful of stories about how but here’s one of my favorites. We’ve actually coined a little household phrase from the lesson she taught me while I was watching her quickly flip through her say and pray bible to her favorite story.

Her mini kids version of the bible has been a favorite book since she was 6 months old and very early on we realized that she had a favorite page. She would zoom past the other books and settle into the story of Esther. Queen Esther and the king are pictured front and center along with a random flower pot and monkey. What’s so interesting to me is that she still pays no attention to the main characters in the story but without fail, everytime, she gets laser focused on the pot of flowers and monkey 🤣.

What I love about watching her is that it reminds me of me. Sometimes I think we have the tendency when we read the word to get so distracted by the details of a passage that we completely miss the big picture- We focus on the monkeys and flowers and pay no attention to the main message. We have a saying around our house when things get confusing or we start to debate details. It’s Stephen and I’s gut check to each other when we’re getting distracted by something in the background and missing the big picture. We’ll look at eachother and ask “are we pointing at monkeys right now? Are we focusing on the flowerpot or the main picture?”

In a lot of ways Christians appear divided on the details - but what I love about the church is that we are unified in simple truth: through the person and work of Jesus Christ, God fully accomplishes salvation for us, rescuing us from judgment for sin into fellowship with him, with a plan to restore creation in which we can enjoy our new life together with him forever.

Top tips for time management that are helping me:

1. Get a planner and set monthly goal(s). Goals will look different for everyone but where most people fail (including myself) is that we forget to break down big goals and dreams into small monthly or weekly goals. I mean how many times have we said our new year's resolution is to lose weight or get out of debt? You have to define HOW you are going to achieve a goal, you can’t just think a goal of accomplishing _______ in a year sounds nice. What specifically are you going to change to get there?

2. Cut out time wasters. Turn off phone notifications. The average person picks up their phone once every 12 minutes. Picking up your phone often leads to us unconsciously checking emails and SM accounts because who can ignore a notification - most people can’t? Humans are hardwired to seek information, seeing notifications and getting distracted with the latest promo email from your favorite store which leads to a little online shopping can easily lead you down a 30+ minute rabbit hole of distraction.

3. Have a consistent order to how you do things. Look at your schedule the night before and create a list with the most important things to do at the top. That way when you get up you start your day right away. Most of us waste a ridiculous amount of time deciding where to start or what to do next. If you can keep a predictable order or routine, you’ll maximize efficiency and conserve mental energy that planning requires.

4. Eat the frog - do the thing you hate the most, first. It consumes the most amount of space in your head. Once it’s done, you’ll feel a huge weight lifted off you.

5. Reflection - Make time each week to reflect on what you did well and where you got off track. This is a moving target. Constant reevaluation will have you improving each week.

Which tip are you going to implement this week?

Week 1 results are in and I’m over the moon excited to share what can happen when you put a heavy focus on nutrition.

I love working out, but eating enough of the right food groups, at the right time of day has been a struggle the last few months.

Timed nutrition is legit changing my life 🙌. I have consistent energy ALL day long just from eating (no caffeine boost needed). It’s making me a better mom. A better wife. A better sister. A better friend. A better speech therapist. Why? Because I have the energy to show up with more enthusiasm, excitement, passion and drive than ever before and I love it 🥰

And the best part, my inbox was full of all of my clients saying the exact same thing. We are shocked by how much energy we have 🙌

What’s so different about this bootcamp is my clients and I all got exclusive access to 37, 5-7 minutes video modules that make nutrition idiot proof 🙌.

And this no guess work approach feels so good ❤️

If you missed out on this round, No worries.

Opening up round ✌️ today with the same exact access to all of the tools mentioned above.

Here’s the deets:
-We will start August 10th.
-I’ll be taking 10 new clients who are willing to commit to this 21 day fitness and nutrition program + let me know how many #’s and inches you lose.

Comment a ❤️ below and I’ll inbox you the link to join us.

Myth: at home workouts are ineffective.
Fact: we’re living proof that at home workouts can be super effective for both men and women. When we did our first 80 day program together in 2017, we lost a combined 60lbs in 3 months. Insane, right? And prior to quarantine, Stephen had been doing his own thing (working out but not following a calendar or meal plan) at his company gym...since quarantine has moved him to working from home he’s been doing at home workouts with me again. He’s lost 10lbs since March (you’re welcome hunny 😉). But really, there’s something about following a calendar that helps you push past workouts you don’t love but are necessary (for us it’s cardio and leg day 😩).

Myth: I don’t have motivation to continue at home workouts.
Fact: I didn’t always either. The problem for me was a few things:
1: I had no accountability. If I quit, no one knew. There’s something about saying your goals out load to someone that makes quiting when it gets hard not an option + being in a community of people working towards the same goal = others successes help pave a path for you to know that short term sacrifice are worth long term results. Seeing others succeed helps you know what is possible for you.
2: I kept trying to do the same few at home programs (30 day shred and p90x). The trainer and style just wasn’t for me. The repetitive nature of these programs made me dread them after the first week. What I’ve learned about me is that I thrive in programs where every workout is different 🙌 having 1,000k+ workouts to choose from keeps things fresh and exciting.
3. I thought motivation was a trait people were born with, not a skill they disciplined themselves to have.
4. I thought workouts meant I could eat whatever I wanted. I would workout just to eat more crappy food and in the end, food is what fuels you. My workouts would bring me one step forward and my fork would bring me two steps back.

******You can’t outwork a bad diet.****** It will leave you foggy and bloated with low energy and no results. No results = no motivation.
