Fly Tying this thursday, July 18, 2024.
Jack Gartside's Gurgler has become world-famous for catching about every kind of fish. You adjust the materials and sizes of fly to suite your fancy and for the fish that you are pursuing.
In your Browser, just type Gartside Gurgler and see all the results you get. Also, do a search using the terms "gurgler fly" to see what pops up.
The Gurgler is what we will be doing this week.
Join us for fly tying and beer on July 18th at Two River’s Public House in Seneca. We will meet at 7 PM! Chapter members are encouraged to bring their own vise, lights, and material. We will have vises and material available. We can help get you tying, also.

Today is a special day for our country, but let’s remember why we have all the freedoms that we do! We wanted to do something special for a veteran on the 4th - won’t mention a name.
We had a veteran who was at risk of losing his camper and car due to some ongoing health issues and not being able to work. With some donors who don’t want to be mentioned, we were able to get him caught up on payments. We also worked with commercial bank to redo the entire loan for this veteran. When we went to the store the buy this veteran food, we ran into another supporter and great human that offered to buy all the food.
House saved. ☑️
Car saved. ☑️
Belly full. ☑️
Sometimes we don’t post about these things so the veteran doesn’t feel less asking for our help, but this is just one example of the things we work on daily to step in "when life sucks." Thanks to all the awesome people involved who wanted to remain anonymous.
Thank a veteran today! Pass it on. 🇺🇸
As we move into tomorrow to celebrate Independence Day, we invite you to join us in paying tribute to the thousands of service members that are deployed all over the world. We have a deep appreciation for those who risk their lives to defend our country and the freedoms we enjoy and, of course, those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Here's to hoping your ears are ringing with the sound of freedom tomorrow!
For immediate need, call or text 988. For other inquiries, message us or get to your nearest VA hospital for long-term care. It's ok to talk to someone even if you're just having a rough day!
June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month. With the stigma surrounding men's mental health, it can still be hard for men of any age to reach out for help. And unfortunately, it can be even more difficult for male veterans or active-duty military.
Although we have experienced a positive shift in culture surrounding men's mental health, we still have a long way to go! For those who want to make a positive impact and help break the stigma, we recommend reaching out and making friends, family, and colleagues feel heard, checking in on loved ones and letting them know someone is there for them.
Those who ever have concerns for a veteran or service member’s well-being can recommend calling or texting 988 for confidential support 24 hours a day or you can reach out to us for resources. You do not have to be in a crisis to use the 988 service... sometimes we just need someone to talk to and feel supported.

We'd like to send out a special thanks to the Emerald City Rotary for hosting Lauren, our Chief of Operations, in Greenwood earlier this week. If you'd like to invite Lauren to speak at a club or networking meeting in the Upstate area, please send an email request to [email protected].

LATE POST! 🚨
Last weekend (Memorial Day Weekend), we had the opportunity to make some much needed corrections and upgrades to the porch of a Vietnam Veteran’s widow. The porch was not structurally safe and now we can rest assured she can navigate her home and property safely. Thank you to all the volunteers who showed up to help! (Not all pictured)
This , please join us as we remember and reflect on those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We continually strive to honor their courage, devotion, and sacrifice.
We can't let pass without sharing how Veterans and their loved ones have taken charge of their mental health and improved their lives.
