At this time of year, Piedmont Women's Center likes to put gifts under the tree with an extra little something for moms. Sometimes, this is the only Christmas gift their clients will receive.

PWC needs things like lotions, nail polish, journals, and other little $5-10 gifts. They would love for these gifts to be dropped off already wrapped! If you'd like to donate some gifts, they can be dropped off anytime between now and the new year at 1143 Grove Rd!

Holiday Serve Days! 12/01/2023

Our partner, Eleos, is moving into a larger facility so they can meet the needs of more students in our community--and they need your help to get across the finish line! They are hosting a Building Dedication (consider yourself invited) on December 10th, from 3-5pm and need help getting our facility "building dedication ready." Several wonderful Church partners have helped them get most of the way there, but there are several rooms that need a second coat of paint.

This spring, war broke out in Sudan. While the conflict initially centered in the capital of Khartoum, the violence quickly spread to many other parts of the country.

Since the spring, the situation deteriorated drastically — particularly in West Darfur. As a result, more than 800,000 Darfurians, most of whom are women and children, have fled across the border into neighboring Chad, where many are waiting without food, water, shelter, or protection. Please pray for these people and that Jesus's peace would be known.

Our missionaries in South East Asia reached out to let us know that there was a very large earthquake earlier this morning. There has been some damage in the area. Our missionaries let us know that at this time, there is a lot of misinformation that is causing more panic, fear, and injuries. Please pray for the panic to die down, for safety during the inevitable aftershocks, and for wisdom as the team evaluates damage to their buildings.

We Mourn with Those Who Mourn 10/23/2023

Check out this email from our partner Ananias House (AH) on some specific updates regarding the conflict in the Middle East and ways we can pray for both Palestinians and Israelis. AH bridges the distance between believers in the West and the growing body of Christ in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) through prayer, Bible training, and physical and spiritual resources to build up God’s global family in an increasingly hostile world.

We Mourn with Those Who Mourn ISRAEL & GAZA—On Saturday, October 6, 2023, the world awoke to the news of a new war in the Middle East. Shortly after sunrise, Hamas militants struck Israel with a surprise invasion. The local people of Israel and Gaza—men, women, and children—came face-to-face with raw evil at the onset of a...

World Relief Responds to Crisis and Disaster 09/25/2023

North Africa has been hit by two devastating disasters recently, affecting thousands of people. On September 8, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Morocco. Only a few days later, on September 10, Storm Daniel caused devastating flooding in Libya. Thousands in North Africa have already lost their lives, and many more are without shelter or access to basic necessities. Please pray for organizations and aid workers on the ground responding to both of these crises. Pray for those who have lost homes, livelihoods, and loved ones.

URGENT -- Pakistan Update… 09/15/2023

Pray for our world: Mobs, nearly 5,000 strong, claiming blasphemy against the Quran, have burned down churches and Christian homes & businesses in Jaranwala, Pakistan. Dozens of churches have been burned to the ground and even more churches have been torched and severely damaged. Hundreds of homes belonging to Christians have been destroyed or damaged beyond use, leaving people to sleep in the open fields, having lost everything. Blasphemy laws are being used to justify these attacks, which, in essence, permit Christians to be punished and imprisoned without due process on anything somebody considers offensive to Islam. One may even be put to death based on hearsay!

Most Christians are afraid and intimidated, and fewer than 1% of Christians in Pakistan today would be considered evangelical, most of whom have been intimidated away from any form of evangelism. Via: Crescent Project

"Historic flooding event" in Greece dumps more than 2 feet of rain in just a few hours 09/06/2023

Pray for our world: Torrential rains have triggered a potentially historic flooding event in Greece, with rain totals of more than 30 inches expected in some places through today from a storm system locally known as Daniel. The storm system has already released 2 feet of rain in parts of central Greece over 24 hours and has caused floods in neighboring Turkey and Bulgaria. At least seven people have been killed across the three countries.

Get to know our missionaries: Holly Beech (a graduate of Southside Christian School) began working with Trans World Radio (TWR) in 1997 during her studies at the Moody Bible Institute. That same year, Andrew Haas joined Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) and began traveling as part of The JESUS Film Project. They met in 2006 during an Africa partnership project. Andrew soon moved to Johannesburg, South Africa, married Holly in 2008, and left Cru to join TWR. After serving together in Africa nine years, God called Andrew to a video position at TWR headquarters in North Carolina. He serves unreached oral people groups by helping deliver God's Word electronically through video. More and more bibleless people groups have access to smartphones allowing TWR to deliver series of short bible story films designed to facilitate discipleship and church planting through social media.

Voice of the Martyrs – Praying for Persecuted Christians in Libya 07/31/2023

Pray for our world: "Libya has remained unstable and chaotic since the revolution and overthrow of its dictator in 2011. Three opposing governments vie for control, and the conflicts have severely damaged the country’s infrastructure and made gospel work in the country extremely difficult. Many missionaries and indigenous believers have been killed in recent years, and evangelical work in the country is ruthlessly opposed.

Front-line workers request prayer for eight Christians in Libya, including six Libyans and two foreigners, who have been imprisoned for their faith: 'Please pray for these believers who have recently been imprisoned to stand firm in their faith as they endure persecution for the name of Christ.' The front-line worker added that some of those now being held in jail 'could be sentenced to death for their obedience to God’s Word and for sharing it with others in the country.'"

Voice of the Martyrs – Praying for Persecuted Christians in Libya VOM's Global Prayer Guide was created to help you pray more specifically for our brothers and sisters in Christ who risk rejection, imprisonment and even death as they obediently serve the Lord on dangerous and difficult mission fronts.
