Originally a Georgia native, Brynton completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia. After completing his master's degree in counseling at Longwood University, he spent several years working in support services, nonprofits, and college student affairs in the DC area. He completed his doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. A recent transplant to Greenville, he seeks to make his impact on the Upstate.
Brynton believes counseling provides a safe and inclusive space where clients will be seen, their voices heard and their experiences valued. He does so by fostering self-acceptance and self-empowerment aimed at helping clients develop a strong sense of identity as they embark on their journey to becoming their most authentic selves. Brynton uses a person-centered and LGBTQ+-affirming approach that incorporates elements of narrative, choice, and CBT as his modality for helping clients navigate life.
Outside of sitting with clients, he is on a quest to find the best coffee shops, breweries, and restaurants in Greenville -- recommendations encouraged. He enjoys spending time outside fishing, hiking, and playing with his needy puppy.
We will see y’all THIS Saturday marching in the parade and at a vendor spot!
