NEXT Families,
Today, January 6, 2022 peers are expected to log-in to Schoology at normal class times for each course period to complete an independent assignment provided by their classroom teacher. Please read below for more information about how each day will work in order for your Peer to be counted at present. You will also find some important emails below if you and your peer have any questions during our temporary closure.
Beginning on Friday, January 7, 2022, students will participate in virtual learning using the Schoology “Conferences” tab, where they will receive direct instruction from their classroom teacher. Students are expected to report to class virtually at their regularly scheduled class time (class times posted in picture below). Attendance shall be determined by whether a student is virtually present, submits assignments, and participates in assigned activities in accordance with the classroom teacher’s requirements. Students who fail to submit assignments or participate virtually in assigned learning experiences will be considered absent and unexcused.

Parents and students of NEXT High School, please check your emails for more information about our temporary school closure that will take place Thursday, Jan 6th - Monday, Jan 17th.
NEXT High School will still maintain our scheduled student school holidays on Friday, January 14 and Monday, January 17, 2022. There will no virtual instruction or assignments for those two days.
This decision was based on internal staff conversations and guidance from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).
The health and safety of our students, staff, and families is our main priority and the data indicates that we must take this action to curb the current trajectory.
NEXT Families!
Enjoy your last day of winter break tomorrow! We return to school on Tuesday, January 4.
SPREADING HOLIDAY CHEER🎁 | Shyanna Adams, a senior at NHS, organized a peer Secret Santa to celebrate the holiday season last week! All students had fun exchanging gifts with one another!
Last week, some of the Peers in Ms. Brown’s English 3 class read their Children's stories to several 4k classes at Greenview Child Development Center. They used their knowledge of narratives to write, illustrate, and publish their own stories. They did an AMAZING job and we are so proud of them!
Happy Holidays! We hope all of our NHS Peers + Pros enjoy this much needed time off with family & friends. We’ll see you back here in the new year!
Ms. Brown's English 3 class is fundraising for a local Greenville non-profit SundayDinner WithaTwist, to raise money for support of the homeless. They are selling the physical copies of their student authored books at Market Day, and they also created a website for people to access a digital version for purchase. In addition, there is a link at the bottom of the site for donations. All proceeds will be shared with Sunday Dinner. Students hosted a booth at Market Day today to sell their books!

Foraging for bones might seem freaky at first, but Kali (11th grade) says that they LOVE IT!
“Bone Jewelry for me brings life and beauty to something that is dead” states Kali in between helping customers at her booth today.
Kali says “These things are part of a culture for me and the peers and pros here at next have enabled and encouraged me to create them”
You can pick up any items you see here TODAY at Next High School, or purchase what is left by reaching out to them
Students at NEXT School Eagle Ridge have been helping to clean the garden beds in preparation for the spring!🌼🌿 6th graders, Bayleigh and Grace, helped to remove a tree that was growing between the cinder blocks. Way to go, ladies! 👏
