Big news! The U.S. Department of Education just made FAFSA easier! They've jazzed up the form, so now, 610,000 more low-income students can grab Pell Grants. No more IRS fuss โ you can zap your tax info straight to FAFSA. Starting in 2024, Pell Grant eligibility ties to family size and poverty levels, meaning more cash for more students. In a nutshell: FAFSA's getting a glow-up, making it a breeze for millions to snag more financial aid! ๐

As we head into December tomorrow, let's celebrate Universal Human Rights Month by recognizing the inherent rights and freedoms that belong to every person, everywhere.
Human rights are not privileges but fundamental entitlements that every human deserves, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other status.
We all have the right to life, liberty, security, and freedom from discrimination. We have the right to education, healthcare, and a decent standard of living. We have the right to speak our minds, practice our beliefs, and participate in our communities.
This Universal Human Rights Month, let's commit to working together to create a world where everyone's rights are respected, protected, and fulfilled.

Just as giving liberates the soul of the giver, Giving Tuesday liberates us from the confines of materialism and consumerism, inviting us to connect with something far deeper โ the joy of making a positive impact on the world.

With the groundbreaking of the new minor league baseball stadium in Spartanburg, we dug into the history of baseball in the area. Have you heard of the Spartanburg Sluggers? They were a Negro League team that called Duncan Park home from 1926 until the 1950s.
Records show they may have even been around the area since the early 1910s when the Sluggers played โRailroad Billโs teamโ from Columbia at the Spartanburg Fairgrounds on the north side of town on August 8, 1911, as part of an Emancipation Day celebration, and the winner was to receive a purse of $50.00.
