This Momentous Celebration was a special one. The fellowship, tears of joy and community engagement was beautiful! It was so great to see our students, mentors, and their families! Families brought their picnic chairs and had a delicious meal in beautiful weather while music filled the amphitheater! We celebrated our well deserving youth and mentors on a successful year of mentoring and youth development. Hearing all of the mentors that spoke share stories and experiences of their bike clubs was such a treat. You all are making such an impact! We’re overjoyed to be able to serve so many amazing individuals.
We want to give a special shout out to our partners:
• Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery for their generous donation of fresh delicious strawberries! It’s a crowd favorite!
• Greenville Bike & Tri for their bike donations that found a new home through our youth bike raffle!
• Caine Halter Family YMCA for supplying their pavilion to serve our meals and the amphitheater to host our awards!

Here is our Executive Director, Tavagahn Monts, Ted-style Talk Pliable for the National Afterschool Association Convention 2024 in Dallas, Texas. Special thanks to Juan Alvardo for that warm introduction!
Tavaghn shared this upon his reflection, “It was an amazing experience. I took away many things from this experience but the one thing that stuck with me the most is the fact that who I am is more than enough. Just, me and my story. And the same applies to all of us.”
Please click the link below to listen to Juan and all of the amazing speakers who courageously shared their stories as well!

Did you know that approximately 49% of our participants are female riders??? Thanks to the Healthy Greenville, Too! Grant, we received support to create numerous All-Girls Middle School Bike Clubs in Greenville County!
The objectives for the all-girls middle school clubs are to increase the number of under-resourced middle school girls who:
1. express interest in riding bikes
2. experience a greater sense of self-efficacy
3. feel a sense of place within their peer and mentor groups
We are thrilled to create an environment where middle school girls are excited to participate in an all- girl bike club where they are supported, represented and empowered.
We’re so stoked for our Executive Director, Tavaghn Monts, who has been accepted to host two sessions and co-present another at the National AfterSchool Association (NAA) for their annual OST professionals convention in Dallas, March 17-20, 2024!
In one session, Tavaghn will be discussing ways to foster new perspectives that executes the mindset that rejections are simply redirections. In another, co-presenting about ways to pivot in how we think, act, work, and connect with youth to address their diverse needs. Lastly a talk about how he used his upbringing on a farm as the change agent to how to address adversities in life. Turning L’s from Loses to Lessons, Love and Life.

Ladies and Gentlemen Momentum Bike Clubs is PROUD to share that our very own Rob Cobb is the recipient of the Humbert Mentoring Excellence Award for going above and beyond to provide City of Greenville, South Carolina Government youth with valuable life skills through the power of mentoring relationships!
Rob oversees the logistics department for MBC, but it’s not uncommon to see Rob at bike clubs riding with the youth on a weekly basis. For those who have been in Rob’s presence you know that he doesn’t meet a stranger. Mr. Momentumus Maximus is always focused on ways to create experiences for our youth as they grow into the amazing people that they are despite the circumstances. Rob is so deserving of this honor, bravo!!!
Thank you to the Greenville Mentoring Collaborative , OnTrack Greenville and United Way of Greenville County and fellow organizations whose mission is mentoring! Let’s all continue to roll forward for our youth!
