📣📣Parents & Students, we are starting DECA, a new business club at Southside!!!📣📣.

If your student is interested in pursuing business and making money, make sure they attend the interest meeting 8/16/24 at 8:10 in the auditorium!

What is DECA??

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

The DECA experience starts in the classroom where students learn business concepts in preparation for college and careers. A powerful instructional component, DECA brings the classroom to life by empowering the teacher-advisor to make learning relevant with educational programs that integrate into classroom instruction, apply learning, connect to business and promote competition. The successful integration of each of these four interconnected components, also part of DECA’s guiding principles, results in a strong program that produces college- and career-ready students.

We are excited to welcome our students for the 2024-2025 school year!

Southside High Back to School Bash was a HUGE success!!! We welcomed rising 9th grade students and new students to meet their teachers, tour the building, and grab some food!

There are so many people to thank!!!

First, thank you to Azah Strollers Tuscan-Lodge-21 for donating and grilling the delicious 🍔 and 🌭 for our families and staff! You all were amazing and we appreciate you showing up for our students and families!

Congratulations Ian!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Southside High School graduate Ian Johnson for being named the 2023-24 Gatorade South Carolina Boys Track & Field Player of the Year. Not only is Ian an outstanding athlete, sweeping the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the Class 3A state meet this past year, he is also a top-notch student who volunteers at a local food bank and homeless shelter, and donates his time as a youth track coach. Ian plans to compete on an athletic scholarship at Clemson University this fall.

We would like to make all our parents aware of some district wide changes!

Greenville County Schools has made changes to the student dress code, which will go in effect beginning of the new school year. These changes were made to increase alignment in discipline and dress code practices between schools and to provide more consistency and clarity for parents and students.

Southside had the privilege of hosting the High School Summit yesterday where all high school administrators from across the district come to exchange strategies and ideas learned throughout the year!

We also got the opportunity to honor Scott Rhymer for his commitment and dedication to Greenville County Schools.

We greatly appreciate our ROTC cadets and Sgt. Powell for assisting in the operations of the day!

A huge shout out to Founders Federal Credit Union for sponsoring breakfast and snacks for everyone!
