Thank you to Senator Adriane Johnson and her representative Shanale Mason for presenting Growing Healthy Veterans with $150,000 grant from the State of Illinois to help us physically grow the community gardens in North Chicago.

We still need your help! Those tax dollars are for construction and physical items, but can't be used to run the gardens or administer the grant funds. Please give to our GoFundMe and help us grow!

A Harvest Festival to celebrate cultivating the soil to heal the spirit.

Growing Healthy Veterans invites the public, and of course GHV supporters, to our Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 15, from 12-4 pm, at the organization’s North Chicago Commons Garden, 1682 Arrington Drive, North Chicago.

The Harvest Festival is a celebration of another successful “growing” season of Growing Healthy Veterans’ mission to engage veterans and active duty military in sustainable agricultural practices to enhance their physical and mental health and overall wellness.

Offering delightful camaraderie complemented with food, music, chair yoga, cooking demonstrations, and a U.S. Marine veteran leading foraging instruction, Harvest Festival admission is free, and donations are appreciated.

Another Day At North Chicago Commons. Meet our working Board of Directors!

It is always rewarding when the efforts of Growing Healthy Veterans and our volunteers, with government, community, and donor support, receive recognition.

Growing Healthy Veterans graciously accepted the recognition of service to veterans during the Illinois State Fair Veterans and Gold Star Families Day.

Our horticultural training and employment opportunities in sustainable agriculture for veterans were prominent Meet the Farmer: Growing Healthy Veterans at Illinois Department of Agriculture Tent topics.

The recognition and Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton's interest in supporting Growing Healthy Veterans and visiting our North Chicago Community Garden are much appreciated.
