SPIRIT WEAR SHARE! Thursday June 6th 5:30-7:30pm at Warren Township Park (near Shelter A). Come join the PTA for FREE popsicles and a SPIRIT WEAR SHARE! Wondering what to do with the spirit wear your student has outgrown? Bring it to the spirit wear share to pass along to another family. See something in a size you need? It is all yours! Totally FREE, families do not need to donate items in order to claim an item. Anything not claimed will be donated.

You may not think any of these things may be useful to your community or your child's school or even anything of value but sometimes we just need to think outside the box. These are all wonderful to be shared with others. Don't sell yourself short!

Lily's mom's positive attitude is inspiring!
Jason's dad is passionate about cars.
Riley's mom is a master gardener.
Dan's aunt is letter carrier.
Jordan's uncle loves to sing.
Jose's neighbor is a soccer ref.

These are all things that can be shared in creative ways.

Adam's grandfather created artwork for our thank you cards to send to our community's donors. Lily's mom comes to our events to inspire and keep the energy up! Jason's dad made a video for kids about how to change a tire. Riley's mom helped with our school beautification give-back day. Jordan's uncle came to our holiday shop and sang festive songs. Jose's neighbor came to school to talk about how the soccer field is no place for bullying.

Every year the Woodland PTA publishes a calendar of PTA events featuring the talent and creativity of our very own students. We are now accepting submissions for next year's 2024-2025 calendar. The search is on for the brightest and most inspiring works of art for the front cover of the calendar and for each month of the year. Each student can submit artwork for as many months as they would like, however each chosen winner will only be featured once. Work can be created and turned in Now through June 4th to your school's main office.

There's a couple important details:
All submissions should be on standard 8 ½ x11 white paper. Please use marker, crayon, colored pencil, or paint, no items should be glued or 3D. The final product must be able to be scanned. Students MUST write their Name and current Grade on the BACK of the artwork in PENCIL or CRAYON. Please do not use pen or marker on the back. If the name or grade is missing the artwork cannot be considered.

And now the best part if you've read this far:
The cover winner will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card and their own copy of the final calendar. Each Month Winner will receive a $10 Ice Cream Gift Card and a copy of their own final calendar.

The Woodland PTA is looking for a volunteer community member to fill our Secretary position.

✅️The PTA Secretary is a board position with an elected term of two years, starting July 1, 2024.
✅️The PTA Secretary is responsible for recording the minutes for all meetings of the Woodland PTA. Currently, this includes preparing the meeting agenda, setting up Zoom links, setting up the Sign Up Genius for registrations, inviting the Woodland Administrative team and preparing the minutes.
✅️The PTA Secretary is also responsible for having a current copy of the PTA’s bylaws, entering Members into MemberHub, keeping a current membership list, conducting correspondence of the associates as directed and performing other delegated duties.
✅️The average commitment for each month is 2-3 hours to prepare for, attend and document the meetings, and approximately 1 additional hour per week to attend weekly board meetings. The time commitment will increase slightly near the beginning and end of the school year as there may be events that require PTA board member attendance, such as welcome back events, curriculum nights and open houses.
✅️All PTA board members also meet in the summer to help prepare the budget for the upcoming school year.
✅️You will not be left alone or to figure it out yourself. You'll have full support of the President, Vice President & Treasurer.

Want to get involved in your child's education and schools? We need parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles or neighbors.
Planning for next school year is starting now and here's what we're looking for to help make next year PAWsome!

★ Board Secretary • Join our leadership team • attend meetings • record and maintain official documents of our PTA, which includes recording minutes and reports of our monthly general meetings.

★ Book Fair Chairs and Co-chairs • Primary School • evenings only • 2 nights in the Fall and 2 nights in the Spring • full support of President, Vice President and Treasurer

★ Book Fair Chairs and Co-chairs • Intermediate School • daytime and evenings • full support of President, Vice President and Treasurer as well as many volunteers to bring it all together

★ Dunk Fest Co-chairs • assist in putting Dunk Fest together alongside Gurnee Demons organization coaches • evening date & time TBD

★ Dance Co-chairs • assist in planning our Spring 2025 PTA Dance • evening date & time TBD

★ Holiday Shop Co-chair • assist in planning, set up and take down of our highest anticipated event of the season • 2 evenings in December, usually a Thursday & Friday • dates & times TBD

We're looking for a secretary to serve as a member of our executive committee. The best part about our board is that you're never alone! Someone is always here to answer any questions and to provide support as needed. Stephanie is a wonderful President to work under! The role of the secretary is to record and maintain official documents of our PTA, which includes recording minutes and reports of all meetings in accordance with Robert's Rules of Parliamentary Procedures.

The PTA served up a delicious lunch to the staff of Woodland Community Consolidated School District #50 in 6 different locations! A huge thank you to our amazing staff for being so awesome every day!
