At our Executive Board Meeting last night, the decision was made that a modified Silent Sidelines Weekend would return for the Fall 2024 season. The silent weekend was agreed upon through the collaboration of the Hanover Soccer Club and CVSC to occur at the Super Soccer Weekend Tournament for U10 and U12 athletes.

For this weekend (only), spectators will be asked to refrain from yelling, cheering, interacting with the coach or refs, or shouting instructions from the sidelines (clapping to celebrate a good play/goal [by either team] is encouraged and cheering after the final whistle is permitted, but otherwise, all spectators should remain quiet during the games).

Refs and Players can talk as needed both from the bench and the field.

New for Fall 2024, primary coaches (not assistant coaches) are permitted to talk as needed throughout the game (both to players on the field and on the bench)

CVSC families, just as a reminder, the blue highlighted age groups are for 2024 Fall and 2025 Spring seasons. Birth year 2012,2011 will be bumped up to U14. 2013, 2014 are U12. 2015, 2016 are U10. 2017,2018 are U8. 2019,2020 are U6.

Our Spring 2024 U10 & U12 All Star teams played like... well, STARS today! Congrats to all of you for being selected to represent CVSC on the Spring 2024 All Star teams! ⭐️⚽️🥅

With the Spring 2024 season wrapping up in the next couple of weeks, we're already deep into planning for the fall! With our numbers of new athletes joining the club surging in recent seasons, we're always looking for new coaches. Coaches receive half off the registration fee for all athletes in the same household after their first full season coaching, along with a free coach jersey, free team photo, and free photo of coach & child athlete(s).

A special congratulations to the four semifinal teams from the Spring 2024 Hanover Soccer Club-Hanover, PA / Conewago Valley Soccer Club U12 Super Soccer Weekend! The weather was wonderful; the competition was fierce; and the spectators were (mostly) compliant with our "Silent Sidelines" event.

**Thank you for participating with us in this new (to us) approach to gameplay. All spectators may go back to freely cheering from the sidelines for the remainder of the season.**

It was another wild Day 1 for the Hanover Soccer Club-Hanover, PA / Conewago Valley Soccer Club U12 Super Soccer weekend! A lot of close games and hard-fought wins! It was amazing seeing those kids work so well as teams with minimal sideline intervention. A special congratulations to the four teams advancing to the finals tomorrow! U12 Tournament is being played as scheduled (all other age groups, consult your coach as to if you will play or postpone). For anyone playing, stay safe (and dry) out there!

Fields painted? ✔️ Grass mowed? ✔️ Sunny weather forecast? 🚫 Well, I guess we'll just have to settle for 2 out of 3 for tomorrow's U12 tournament! Bring your tent, bring your umbrella, bring your boots... it might get a little wet! Hope to see you all there!

We also want to give a BIG "Thank You" to all the parents and coaches who helped our first ever experience with a "Silent Sidelines" event be so successful! We know it was tough for a lot of us to keep quiet on the sidelines, but we had some amazingly awesome (and creative) signs by both our parents and our coaches! And, most importantly, we've had a LOT of VERY positive feedback from the players (and ultimately, they are what this league is all about).

🤫(Silent)🤫 Super Soccer Weekend starts next weekend for U10 (U12 kicks off May 18th) and we want to make sure everyone is ready! Please see tournament rules/regulations below:

🚩Wear Red! In support of CVSC and Hanover Soccer Club-Hanover, PA we are asking all spectators to wear red!🚩

*NEW* for 2024: All games are SILENT (with limited exceptions)
-Players and Refs can talk as needed
-Coaches & Assistants can only talk to players before/after the game, at half time, and when players are not playing/on the sideline (no communicating with players on the field)
-All other spectators are expected to remain silent throughout the game (polite "golf claps" are acceptable, cheering after the final whistle is permitted)

Format:
-All games are 20 mins in length (two 10-min halves with a brief [2-min] half time)
-This allows about 8 mins between games for teams to get on/off the field and switch between fields
-Please contact your coach if you need a copy of the tournament schedule; It's a tight schedule, so please be ready/on-time for your scheduled game start time; teams that are >5 mins late may be required to forfeit
-On Saturday, there is no stoppage time, no overtime, and no shootouts; If there's a tie after the allotted 20 mins, the results will be recorded as a tie
-Semifinal games and the championship/runner up games are standard U10/U12 length and cannot end in a tie; semifinals that end regulation in a tie will go to a best out of 5-shootout; if the championship or runner up games end regulation in a tie, the coaches will get to decide if they want a 10 minute "Golden Goal" overtime (first goal wins and ends game) or a best out of 5-shootout to end the game

Scoring:
-Final rankings for the opening day will be determined World Cup style:
-A victory equals three (3) points
-A draw equals one (1) point
-A loss equals no (0) points
-If the top two teams are tied in points, the first place team is whichever team won the head-to-head matchup or (if a tie) whoever had the higher cumulative tournament point differential (the difference between how many goals a team conceded and scored in its games)
