Hello!

My name is Hannah Nguyen and I am the Ethnic Studies & 9th grade lead teacher at ARISE High School, a social justice-centered public charter school located in the Fruitvale Village of East Oakland. As a lead teacher, I also support my school community with digital PR (mainly designing the website) and teacher recruitment.

I am reaching out to the Teacher Education Program at CSU East Bay to see if you all would be able to circulate information about our open positions for the 2021-22 school year to your alumni network and current Master's Degree & Teaching Credential candidates.

For almost 15 years, ARISE has been a cornerstone of the Fruitvale community, engaging our students in reinvesting their knowledge, wisdom, and resources back into our Oakland home and building towards a more healthy, equitable, and just society. As we grow our community and expand our team, we are looking for teachers passionate about empowering the next generation of critically conscious student leaders through critical pedagogy & liberatory education.

Prospective candidates can learn more about our Mission & Vision here. You are also welcome to share my contact information with any interested students/alumni - I'd be more than happy to answer their questions and share my experiences of working at ARISE!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!

In Community,

Hannah Nguyen

Hello CSU Eastbay Teachers,

My name is Nima Tahai and I am the principal of Parkside Montessori School. We are a public school part of the San Mateo-Foster City School District.

We have a mid year vacancy and we are looking for a credentialed teacher to take over a class from now until the end of the year. The position offers a full teachers salary and benefits. Candidates do not need to be Montessori trained.

This is an ideal situation for a new teacher looking to get their foot in the door.

The position is lower elementary (1st-3rd) grade and hybrid instruction - which means you are in-person 4 days a week and teaching half days to half the class.

Specifically - on Monday/Tuesday you will have 9 kiddos and on Thursday/Friday you will have another 9 kiddos.

Montessori experience is not required for this position, and should things work out and we explore working together beyond this year - our district pays for Montessori training!

Here is the job posting on edjoin: https://www.edjoin.org/Home/DistrictJobPosting/1354591

Please reach out to me directly if you are interested or may know of someone that is interested: [email protected]

All my best,

Nima
