In case you missed it...

The FTC has released an interim report on their investigation into PBM practices and their negative impact on the prescription drug market. The 71-page report highlights key insights uncovered in their inquiry so far, including vertical integration, excessive power over the marketplace, self-preserving behaviors, unfair contracts, and patient steering. The report also points out issues investigators are facing due to PBM delay tactics and their refusal to produce information ordered for the investigation, even going as far as to threaten legal action to compel PBM compliance if necessary. The Commission concludes the report by stating that, “initial evidence about PBM and brand pharmaceutical rebating practices… urgently warrant further scrutiny and potential regulation.”

Meet NPA Treasurer Evan Williams, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, BCACP! In addition to her work with NPA, Dr. Williams currently provides clinical pharmacy services at Valley Hospital Medical Center with a focus in transitions of care. He also teaches various clinical topics and lab skills, and serves as Director of Accreditation for the College of Pharmacy.

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is seeking feedback from employers of pharmacy technicians in the United States to gather information to aid their program development. This survey is approximately 10 questions and they anticipate it will take less than 5 minutes of your time. No specific data on individual companies will be released. At the end of the survey, you can provide your contact information to enter a drawing for a $100 gift card to PTCB's Store.
