Our hard working volunteers packed over 300 backpacks for Project 150 and the students they serve. Thank you for making a difference!
Join us this week as we hear from our very own Kelly McGovern. Kelly is a Regional
director of the USDA Office and of the Inspector General. Since joining the USDA in 2011, Kelly has held a variety of key roles, including Senior Management Analyst and Acting Director for the Office of Diversity and Conflict Resolution. She holds a Ph.D in Philosophy/English and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Kelly has been a welcome addition to our Club. Come meet her!

On Thursday, the Rotary Club of Green Valley inducted President, Val K. Hatley for the 2024-2025 term. He is a former member of the Las Vegas Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of San Pedro, CA, where he also served as President. During the ceremony, Val shared his vision for the club’s future and thanked members for their service and commitment to Henderson projects.
We’re back, refreshed and energized, after a wonderful Cruise to Service. Thank you to the Ensenada Mexico clubs for your hospitality. Congratulations to Rotary Club of Green Valley for a stellar year lead by District Governor Mike Soden and Club President Kay Doxilly.

This week’s meeting featured Ramona Esparza-Stoffgren, President of the Leadership Institute of Nevada, a non-profit making a difference cultivating leadership development in public, private and charter schools.
We also enjoyed a visiting Rotarian from England and her friend, a future Rotarian.

Dr. Michael Green, professor of history at UNLV and chair of the history department joined us for dinner last night. Mike serves on the Mob Museum board of directors and addressed misconceptions and dispelled some of the myths about the mob in Las Vegas. Thank you Dr. Green!
Rotary believes in developing the next generation of leaders. Our programs help younger leaders build leadership skills, expand education and learn the value of service.
We celebrated the induction of new member Rose Gonzalez who has a heart for service and has the full support of her family. Our speaker Dawn Christensen is the VP of communications and corporate responsibility for the Nevada Resort Association. She shared how much tourism does for our State. President-Elect Val Hatley introduced the Club’s new banner for outreach events.

We encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help to build goodwill and peace in the world.
Serving our community locally as well as internationally. We strive to make a difference for those less fortunate than ourselves, with a special emphasis on the youth who will be tomorrow’s leaders.
