Our Beautiful Boy would have turned 26 today. He always enjoyed celebrating his big day, so in his honor we will put our tears aside and share laughter and memories of him.
Tom and I are in Nice, France as a tribute to him, where we released some of his ashes into the Mediterranean Sea that he so loved when he lived here. Walking in his footsteps has brought us peace and comfort.

Threw out the first pitch at Cubs Spring Training Opening game in Mesa, AZ with Chris’ favorite game ball from his Little League days!!! Chris was a big Cubs fan so I felt his love and excitement the entire day! Thank you to my besties for making this an amazing weekend, plus a bonus visit from Haley who was in Phoenix for work. So much love all around!

Chris, my beautiful boy - it is so hard to start yet another New Year without you here. I miss your infectious laughter and your bear hugs that brought me such comfort. I miss how my life felt with you in it. I miss that piece of my heart that now resides elsewhere in this universe. I miss sharing holidays with you and poking fun at your sisters. I miss your thoughtful conversation and soul searching insight on life’s hardships and joys.

Facing another year without you on this earth is painful, but I know you are now free from the heartbreaking encumbrances of this world and existing in a magical sphere amongst the moon and stars, truly happy. I get to see you every day in the crimson hues of the sunset and hear you in the whistling of the wind amongst the trees. And with this I know, a part of you is still with me. Always. Forever.

We are overjoyed to have received 22 applications for the Christopher J Chute Memorial Scholarship for Hinsdale Central students! The recipient will be announced on June 1st at the Senior Scholarship event at HCHS. So proud of all of the applicants and their impressive achievements!

We are pleased to announce the installation of the Christopher J Chute Memorial Bench at Burns Field in Hinsdale, where Chris spent many happy days playing sports and enjoying carefree time with friends and family. It is located on the west side of Burns along Madison Street, overlooking the entirety of that special park. Feel free to stop by and savor a quiet moment where Chris will surely be looking on, reminding you that You Are Loved.

On August 31, 2021, we lost our only son Chris, creating a vast hole in our lives that could not be filled. As the months passed after his death, we knew we needed to create a lasting memory dedicated to what was so dear to him - his experiences studying and travelling overseas. To that end we created the Christopher J Chute Charitable Trust for Study Abroad, affectionately known as 'ChuteHigher'. Our goal is for all students, regardless of their financial status, to be able to 'Chute Higher' and achieve their study abroad goal. - Kirsten, Tom, Haley, and Abby Chute
