Met some new friends at the free training put on by at Kapiolani Park. Training every Sunday 6:30 am which starts at the band stand. Check out the Great Aloha Run website for sign up info. This was the 15-16 minute group. The pace was just right. We completed about 5 miles this morning. The goal of the Midpacific Road Runners Club is to instill the love of running. Get out of that warm bed and bring your whole family!

This is one cup serving of cooked white rice which is about 45-50gm of carb. If you have diabetes this is the portion of rice you should be eating to prevent blood sugar spikes. Brown rice and white rice have the same amount of carb per one cup serving. However, brown rice has fiber which is slower to digest and will not spike the blood sugar like the white rice. Carb with fiber is always the better choice to prevent sugar spikes and keeps you feeling full. Aim for 45-60gm carb per meal.
