Our Summer in Hawaii interns got to take an inside look at DRFortress, Hawaii's largest carrier-neutral data center and cloud marketplace. Our interns learned about the world of data and how important it is to create safe and secure IT systems.

Alongside their community internships, our interns join us for enriching Fridays filled with field trips, guest speakers, and discussions, all aimed at deepening their roles as local leaders committed to Hawaii. Our Executive Director, Katie Chang, will be taking a one-year sabbatical starting July 1, 2024. She’s heading to Cambridge, Massachusetts to pursue a Masters of Public Administration at Harvard Kennedy School! With new insights, a broader network, and wisdom from global experts, we know Katie will return refreshed and ready to elevate our impact on young leaders.
In the meantime, we’re thrilled that April Nakamura, our current Associate Director, will step in as Interim Executive Director. April has been a visionary leader since CTL’s inception, and we’re excited to see how CTL will evolve under her guidance. 🌟

Summer in Hawaii Week 1 at was incredible! Alongside their community internships, our interns join us for enriching Fridays filled with field trips, guest speakers, and discussions, all aimed at deepening their roles as local leaders committed to Hawaii. We began Summer in Hawaii 2024 with a visit to Kāko‘o ‘Ōiwi, where sustainable farming connects people to the land in meaningful and educational ways. Mahalo nui, Kāko‘o ‘Ōiwi, for sharing your mana‘o and your love for this place with us. We can't wait to come back next year!
