Saturday May 20th we held a collaborative workday with Malama Loko Ea and hosted 35 volunteers who helped with invasive species removal in the Loko Ea tributary
Join us on Saturday, May 27 for our next community workday in Maunalua Bay! We meet at Kuliʻouʻou Beach Park at 9am (100 Bay St) and work until 12pm removing invasive algae from Paikō Beach. Wear water friendly clothing, reef friendly sunscreen and definitely bring a waterbottle. Please also fill out our online waiver at malamamaunalua.org. See you out there!

Animal care staff with the Hawai‘i Endangered Bird Conservation Program are getting ready for an important breeding season—the season that will see hatching of ‘alalā, or Hawaiian crow, chicks that will be released into the wild. The ‘alalā has been extinct in the wild since 2002, preserved only in the program run by San Diego Zoo Global at its bird centers in Hawai‘i.

Pono Pacific is currently seeking applicants for field crew members for our small predator control project. The Predator Control Crew Member will be primarily responsible for maintaining traps of predators that threaten native bird species throughout various remote areas on Oʻahu.
