Our second week at Camp Acorn has flown by! Highlights from this week’s Fun Friday include a glow party and a truck show around our circle drive that engaged the campers in exploring various community helper vehicles! We ended the week with a popcorn treat! We can't wait to see what Week 3 brings!

The Parish School’s unique 17 acre campus gives children the opportunity to explore nature, learn and have fun all at the same time!

Today was the first Fun Friday of Camp Acorn! Wild Thing Zoofari brought an armadillo, a kangaroo, a spider monkey and a fennec fox to show our older campers and The Jolley Trolley came for our younger campers to jump, tumble and play in. We also had fun with water and sound and enjoyed a cool treat! The smiles on our campers’ faces were priceless!

During the first free one-hour adult education session, spend time with Jordan Boyce, M.Ed., LDT, CALT, The Parish School's Elementary Reading Specialist, as she discusses the stages of language and literacy development and the role that language plays in learning to read and write. She will send you with tools and strategies to use at home that will help build your child’s literacy skills and support their academic growth.

Join us for this presentation in The Schissler Library at The Parish School from 9:15-10:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 6. Open to the public.

It’s hard to believe that today was the last day of the 2023-2024 school year! Today we celebrated a year full of hard work with class parties and lots of hugs. Congratulations to ALL of our students for a job well done this year!

In recognition of Asian American, Pacific Islander American, and Native Hawaiian Heritage Month alongside our exploration of water in the Dinosaurs class! Recently, they read the book, "Shark Lady."

Through thoughtful questions, the Dinos uncovered the remarkable journey of Eugenie Clark, fueled by her love for sharks and her unwavering determination to study their biology and behavior. After our adventure with Shark Lady, they tapped into their own dreams, sketching visions of what they want to be when they grow up. And thanks to Dawn, they took a plunge into the world of SCUBA, igniting a sense of wonder and possibility in our young explorers!

Last week, the Olympians stepped into the kitchen for an epic Chopped competition! It was full skill and creativity and the results look delicious. Great job, students!

It's Spirit Week at The Parish School and today is College Day! 🎓🎉

Our Primary students have been counting down the alphabet for the last 26 days of school, and "R" Day was all about Race Cars! The classes poured their creativity into crafting their own race car creations and then on Monday they raced their creations down the track. What a fun way to countdown the final days of school!

Our Upper Elementary students rocked the stage today with their original musical "Soul: A Tribute to Sam Cooke"! From dance moves to melodies, they paid homage to the legendary Sam Cooke in style.

Covering topics from social competencies, managing big feelings, language and literacy, loose parts, and more, we hope you found the presentations insightful and valuable. Check out how students on campus are enjoying the fresh berries that have started appearing! The Armadillos class took it a step further by baking delicious fresh blackberry muffins in their Nature Studies class!

Today we celebrated Earth Day 🌎 on campus. We danced, picked up trash, and enjoyed being surrounded by birds, trees, and flowers!

Wyatt had a blast exploring our 17-acre campus with Jeff Wallace, our Maintenance Supervisor, during his Teacher Treasure! Jeff treated Wyatt to an exciting ride around on the school's UTV, giving him a behind-the-scenes look at our campus facilities.

It was another fun and memorable trip to Camp For All for our Upper Elementary students and staff! Campers spent 2-days zip lining, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing and making memories…We can’t wait until next year!!
