Tonight, we had the privilege of awarding our Lucille Johnston Memorial Scholarship to two outstanding Huntsville High School students. Congratulations to Chasten Henley and Aubrey Dennis on receiving this prestigious scholarship. Chasten will attend UT Arlington, while Aubrey will attend Prairie View A&M University. Well done to both recipients and we wish them all the best! 💕💚
Did you know that your physical wellbeing can impact your mental wellbeing and vice versa? It’s essential to prioritize your health by scheduling your preventative care appointments. Annually, it is recommended that everyone has a physical exam and routine dental cleaning and check-up. Women should also ensure to schedule their mammograms. Additionally, depending on factors like age and family history, specific exams such as colonoscopies may be necessary. Let’s take charge of our health today.
💕💚
Start with the basics. 💕💚
Throughout Mental Health Awareness Month and our partnership with Everyday Health, we’re sharing awareness tips to make sure you’re showing up as your best self, inside and out.
Today, we’re starting with the basics.
Let’s prioritize our well-being by: nourishing our bodies with a balanced diet and staying hydrated. Small changes make a big difference. And together, we can promote mental wellness within our sisterhood and beyond!🩷💚
Due to inclement weather, we are postponing our Reactivation Stroll Social to ensure the safety of all participants. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are actively working to reschedule the event. We will promptly inform you of the new date once it has been confirmed. Thank you for your understanding and please stay safe.
The 92nd Regional Conference for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was a huge success! The conference theme, “From Trials to Triumph: The Journey to Soar Continues,” was truly uplifting and inspiring. We volunteered, attended workshops, handled business and enjoyed celebrations and meaningful fellowship.
Part of the celebrations included our Golden member, Dee Howard and chapter, Mu Mu Omega! We were recognized as one of the Best of the Best Chapters! Our work is not in vain. We may be small but our work is mighty. 💗💚💗
Today is National Arbor Day! Our sisters are committed to making a positive impact on the environment by planting trees. Last year alone, we planted 3100 trees across the nation! Check out the picture below to see how our environment will benefit for the next 20 years.
Let's join forces and make a difference by planting trees!
Did you know planting trees improves air quality by filtering harmful dust and pollutants from the air that we breathe?
Sisters joined together at Eastham Thomason Park and planted trees in order to be a part of the change to enhance our environment. One tree can make all the difference in improving our overall health.

We always look forward to our monthly chapter meetings. Not only is it a time for business, but it's also an opportunity to enjoy time together. Our recent meeting was no exception! The Sisterly Relations Committee outdid themselves with a fantastic celebration honoring our Silver and Golden sorority sisters. It was a beautiful reminder of the bonds we share and the legacy of service we continue to build.

We want to take a moment to express our gratitude to Timiea Garrett and Andrea Villatoro for helping make yesterday a success. Timiea, one of our scholarship recipients, brought joy to children and families by volunteering as our Easter Bunny. Andrea, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, dance educator, and author, led line dancing for the kids and gave away copies of her book, I Am Unique 7 Days a Week. You can purchase her book on Amazon: https://a.co/d/iP8I617.
Today, we had the pleasure of supporting the Barbara Wiggs Fun Day in the Park. We hosted The Easter Bunny Photo Booth and it was definitely a hit with both kids and adults alike! This free event brought the community together for a time of games, food, music, positive fellowship, and lots of smiles and laughter.
We'd like to give a big shoutout to Committee Chair Aisha O'Bryant for spearheading the committee and a special thanks to all of the participants who made it such a success. It's always great to see our community come together and have a good time.
