Carter Howell is the 2023-24 National FFA Southern Region Vice President from Florida!
The Northeast is beast. Traveling to Connecticut and Maryland for National FFA Week! From the unique operations to the Maritime Sound School, to the Eastern Shore and the big city in Maryland, I enjoyed every moment celebrating FFA Week with students in their home communities. FFA Week provides us an opportunity to come together and celebrate all that FFA stands for, the passion and excitement in members for this organization across the Country is infectious. Thank you to all the chapters that I visited for welcoming me with open arms and showcasing what makes your programs so special.
The future of agriculture is global. In February, the National FFA Officer Team had the privilege to travel to Japan for the first time in 4 years. While there, we had the unique opportunity to explore the beautiful country, indulge in their cuisine (eat more beef) and learn from their rich tradition and history. There is so much to be learned from traveling abroad, such as the value of a smile, the importance of respect and the sense of unity that comes from being engaged in agriculture. A smile, a showing of respect and a sense of unity can take us far in this world, I’m glad I got to experience those three important things when visiting with the Future Farmers of Japan, Japanese agriculturalists and others we encountered throughout our journey in the Country. The challenges that agriculture face are big, but by taking a bigger, more global approach I am confident that FFA and FFJ members and others involved in agricultural pursuits around the world will be able to solve them.
through my involvement in the cattle industry. Although I may not have been raised in agriculture I have had the opportunity to learn and grow through it. Whether your agriculture involvement stems from livestock, horticulture or technology, we need all of you to advance the future of agriculture.
The initiative aims to illuminate the diverse aspects of the agricultural industry by highlighting various ways people contribute. You, too can be by sharing how you contribute to and connect with the agricultural industry today!
Happy Ag Teacher Appreciation Day!
Today is the day that we get to celebrate and honor those who make such a big impact on our lives!
My ag teacher, Mr. Tim Cribbs made a tremendous impact on my life. He provided me with unique opportunities, challenged me and supported me. I am very grateful for his wisdom guidance and tough love throughout the years. It is no understatement to say that without him, I would not be where I am today. While he may no longer be with us today, his impact lives on in me and so many other former students across the country.
Look what I cooked up🧑🏽🍳
