A wonderful way celebrate another year surrounded by this beautiful tribe. Fish caught, here’s proof. Always special.
A great day on Sugar Creek with fishing buds. Fish caught and fishing friends got reacquainted after a long time. Fish caught but memories are still fresh. Big fish? Who cares?
It was difficult to learn that Dawn M Currier-Shaul, one of our most active veteran participants has passed. Dawn proudly served our country and joined PHWFF a few years ago and has been very active first as a fly tyer and as an avid fly fisherperson. She put her heart into the Program and in everything she did. On the all female trip in the summer of 2023 Dawn caught a personal best 20” Plus smallmouth bass, her first fish on a fly and fly rod. Memorial service Sunday March 24, at Indiana Landmarks, 1202 Central Avenue, Indianapolis, doors open at 4pm, service at 5pm.
Here at Project Healing Waters, we're deeply aware of the emotional journey of healing, camaraderie, and connectedness at the core of Mending the Line Movie, so we're thrilled to share this opportunity for others to see the healing power of fly fishing and friendship on the big screen! Check out "Mending the Line," premiering tomorrow in theaters!
Members of PHWFF Indy took their angling talents on the road this week to Newaygo, MI to hook up with the elusive and powerful steelhead. Despite high water and constantly changing weather, Rick (army,) Kent (army,) and Bob (Air Force,) all managed to land multiple fish. This was a trip that will not be forgotten. It would not have been possible without the great guides from Feenstra Guide service and planning from Mike Exl at moving waters Outfitters.
Honored to have Sgt BassFisher Joe Jackso conducting a tying class on Clouser Minnows and variations as we get ready for the spring run of White Bass. Joe knows! , ,
