Dear Friends,
As I write this message my children, ages 12 and 15, are at Jewish summer camp. As both a father and former camp director, I know first-hand the indelible impact camp has on Jewish life. Jewish camp is a place to feel that incredible sense of Jewish belonging, even more so this year when our children have had to face unprecedented levels of antisemitism in their schools. At Federation, we want every Jewish child in Orange County to receive the gift of camp. We know it is an investment that will sustain the Jewish future.

Shabbat Shalom!
For nine months, Israel has contended with attacks from Iran-backed terrorists on multiple fronts. Last night, Houthis from Yemen succeeded in murdering an Israeli, 50-year-old Yevgeny Perder, in a drone attack on Tel Aviv. Jewish Federations condemn this vile terrorist attack, mourn the loss of life, and will continue to stand by Israel as she defends herself and protects her citizens.

Tips to engage on social media
We know that one of the most influential and trusted sources of information on the conflict are people’s friends and families.
We’re not going to be able to use social media to change the world but we can use it to share messages and information so our non-Jewish colleagues, friends and family can understand the conflict and rising antisemitism from our perspective.

Become A Grassroots Organizer
Whenever someone wants to accomplish something in a community – any community — one of the first steps in getting organized is to reach out to those around you who might have a similar interest to see if you can work together.
This same principle holds true when we want to help increase the awareness of the Jewish community, the challenges we’re facing, and the need to have support from allies.
