The ETSU Health Johnson City Community Health Center (JCCHC) will host its annual Community Health Fair this week on Saturday, Sept. 21
Attendees will be able to receive health screenings, meet with providers and schedule appointments at this free public event.

ETSU celebrates Nurse Leadership Program graduates The Tennessee Center for Nursing Advancement held a celebratory luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 12, to mark the inaugural graduates of the center’s Nurse Leadership Program – a weeks-long online course designed to hone the skills of nurse leaders across the state.
After a national search, East Tennessee State University has named Dr. Dena Evans as dean of the College of Nursing.
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Dena Evans will be joining us as the new Dean of the College of Nursing, starting January 2, 2025.

On July 31st, the Tennessee Center for Nursing Advancement, in partnership with Ballad Health, ETSU and StoryCollab, hosted an impactful Nurse Narratives event. This free screening showcased compelling first-person video stories from nurses, highlighting the critical role of empathy, communication, and clinical skills in achieving a successful nursing career.
The event attracted an enthusiastic crowd of over a hundred attendees, including Dr. Kimberly McCorkle and Dean Byrd. Their presence, along with the diverse and engaged audience, contributed to a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. Attendees were deeply moved by the powerful stories shared, sparking meaningful conversations about the vital role of empathy and communication in nursing. The positive energy and collaborative spirit were evident throughout the evening, making it a memorable and inspiring experience for everyone involved.
We’re excited to announce that the Nurse Narratives collaboration will continue with a new phase in Spring 2025. Stay tuned for more details!
