Mother's Day fun fact: Mother’s Day began as a call to action to improve the lives of families.
Ann Jarvis founded Mother’s Day in 1868 to reunite families after the civil war and fought to improve public health. Julia Ward Howe used Mother’s Day as a call to be anti-war.
PHSA just wanted to take the time to wish all the Mothers a very Happy Mother's Day and let each of you know how important you are to Public Health and its initiatives ❤

The COVID-19 pandemic is an example of a disease emerging as a result of close contact between animals and people. A One Health approach recognizes the close connection between the health of people, animals, and the environment and the role this connection plays in the emergence of new diseases.
