Those who responded to the events on 9/11/2001 are still paying the price for their hard work.
Exposure to countless carcinogens and exposure to various other harmful agents affect first responders on a daily basis.
FDNY FF Gary Box and Squad 1 got stuck in the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel on 9/11. Instead of staying in the tunnel, FF Box and the crew of Squad 1 chose to grab their gear and run to the towers.
**This is the last known photo of FF Gary Box. Ironically this photo was accidentally taken by his father, Jud Box.

Kissimmee Fire Station 11 welcomes our international brothers Adrian and Ricardo who are volunteer FF’s from Michoacán,Mexico. In 2019 our department donated this group of volunteers outdated PPE that can no longer be used due to service date requirements for structural firefighting gear and equipment. This gear has been of great use to them and the community they serve.
They will be attending hands on training at Treasure Coast HOT this weekend in Fort Pierce, FL.
