- Roxy is fully potty trained, loves using the dog door, and is comfortable in her crate.
- When you call her name, she comes running—she’s eager to be by your side!
- Although she doesn't bark much, she occasionally yips and howls in excitement.
- Roxy is exceptionally friendly with other dogs and thrives in the company of canine pals. She would do best in a home with other dogs.
- She adores human children and would make a wonderful family pet, but she politely declines any offers from our feline friends.

Meet Gina ~ Our spirited little hopper!

This resilient 11-month-old tripod is ready to bring boundless love and energy into your life! Despite my amputation earlier this year due to a past of abuse, nothing can slow down my zest for life and playfulness.

I might be mostly black lab with a dash of greyhound; sporting a long, narrow face and occasionally showing off that famous greyhound tongue! My foster family describes me as a bundle of joy, always eager to romp around with plush toys, chase after balls in the yard, and figure out the mysterious ways of those elusive feline creatures.

Though I may be a bit clumsy at times, especially during my zoomies, I'm mastering the art of navigating obstacles and appreciating the comfort of rugs and carpet for stability. And guess what? I'm already potty trained! 🎉

While I love making friends with other doggos and engaging in playful banter, I might be a tad too rambunctious for tiny humans, so a home with older kids or adults would be perfect for me. Plus, if you have a fur sibling who can keep up with my antics, even better!

I'm a quick learner when it comes to commands like sit, stay, and down, and I'm always eager to please my humans (especially if treats are involved!). And let's not forget my affectionate side – I'm a pro at snuggling up for belly rubs and being the best little spoon you could ask for!

Urgent Foster Home Needed for Puppies to Prevent Littermate Syndrome!

Help Needed! We're seeking new loving foster homes (or forever homes!) to split our adorable litter of Belgian Malinois mix puppies into! Born on 02/28/2024, these cuties are now 4 months old and ready to spread their paws into the world.

Meet the Pups (grouped below as they are in fosters):
- Clover and Meadow: Playful and curious, these two are the perfect duo for any adventure!

Why We Need Your Help:
As these puppies grow older, the risk of developing littermate syndrome increases. To ensure they grow into well-rounded dogs, it's crucial they find separate homes where they can thrive independently.

Littermate syndrome refers to behavioral issues that can arise when two puppies from the same litter (or two young dogs of similar age raised together) develop an overly dependent bond on each other to the detriment of their individual socialization and development. This syndrome can lead to several challenges:

1. Attachment Issues: The puppies may become excessively bonded to each other, leading to separation anxiety when apart.

2. Socialization Problems: They may prefer each other's company over interacting with other dogs or people, which can hinder their ability to socialize properly.

3. Training Difficulties: It can be harder to train each puppy individually because they rely on each other rather than learning from human direction.

4. Conflict and Rivalry: In some cases, littermates may develop rivalry or competition, which can lead to fights or other behavioral issues.

To prevent littermate syndrome, it's recommended to socialize each puppy separately, provide individual training sessions, and ensure they spend significant time apart from each other to develop independence and bond with their human caregivers. This means they need to be separated sooner rather than later.

A spirited pup who was returned to rescue nearly 1 year ago, left searching again for her forever home. Initially adopted at a young age, she faced the heartbreak of being abandoned by her first family. She braved the streets for eight long months before finally being rescued. But her journey didn't stop there. After her time on the streets, Honey was adopted once again, only to be returned because she didn't get along with one of the family dogs.

Despite these challenges, Honey remains an energetic and resilient spirit. She's been spayed, is up-to-date on her shots, and is microchipped, all ready to embark on her journey to find her forever home. Honey may pull a bit on the leash, but with proper training, she could be an ideal companion for walking, running, or hiking. Her vivacious personality and boundless energy make her a wonderful match for an active family, and she's sure to bring joy and adventure into your life. Apollo has a history of occasional episodes where he temporarily loses his balance and the use of his back legs. Extensive medical evaluations, including radiographs and consultations with an orthopedic surgeon, have found no abnormalities. Veterinarians suspect these episodes are acute seizures that cause brief disorientation before Apollo returns to normal. While his episodes are currently infrequent and not severe enough to require medication, any increase in frequency or severity may necessitate reevaluation. Potential adopters should be aware of this medical history and be prepared to provide any future care he might need. His episodes however do not slow him down much, other than for a few minutes.

Every day, we receive heartbreaking excuses for surrendering pets: "Moving," "Baby on the way," "Don't have time," "Needs training.", "Divorce". These are not reasons to abandon a loyal companion who loves you unconditionally. 🚫😢

In just the last week alone, we've received over 20 surrender applications, some for multiple pets in the home. Rescues are overwhelmed. Shelters are forced to make the gut-wrenching decision to euthanize healthy animals due to overcrowding. This is not okay!

KEEP YOUR DAMN PETS and figure it out! Plan ahead before moving. Prepare for a new baby AND your pet. Make time for the creature who waits for you every day. Invest in training to build a lifelong bond. Separation from another human doesn't mean its OK to separate from your pet as well! UGH!!

We CAN do better, Las Vegas. Spay and neuter your pets. Adopt responsibly. Foster if you can. Support local rescues. Educate others. Together, we can make a difference and ensure every pet has a loving home they deserve.

🚨 Urgent Update on Solider 🚨

Dear supporters, we want to update you on Soilder's current situation. Yesterday morning, Soilder was rushed to the vet after showing signs of lethargy, vomiting, and bloody diarrhea reported by his foster. Given his already fragile state due to severe emaciation, initial suspicions of a hunger strike at the shelter have now shifted to a possible obstruction issue.

Radiographs haven't revealed a clear obstruction, complicating the diagnosis and likely necessitating exploratory surgery. Currently, Soilder is hospitalized to stabilize his condition while we await further diagnostic results to formulate a treatment plan. The anticipated hospitalization costs are substantial, nearly $1,900, and that's before factoring in potential surgery expenses.
