In the spirit of service to others, The Mission Continues organizes a national service campaign across the country every January in honor of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We are proud that our platoon will be participating in this year's effort.

TMC Vegas and our partners will be providing an opportunity for community members to assist The LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada with some needed outdoor landscaping and facility cleanup. This MLK service project will be in direct collaboration with the Southern Nevada Veterans Chamber of Commerce SNVCC, Merging Vets and Players, Charlie-Mike Foundation, Veterans Upward Bound, UNLV Rebel Vets Organization and other great organizations soon joining this effort.

Special thanks to our friends at Grand Canyon University and Purple Pricing for their generous sponsorship and support of this service event.

Rebel Vet's Student Veterans of America UNLV Chapter Expands DEI Initiative, Recognizes Family Members

Janelle's connection to the military is deeply rooted, with her father, William Thompson, having served in the Air Force before being medically retired in April 1989. Unfortunately, Janelle experienced the profound loss of her father at the tender age of 7 in November 2005. Despite this tragic event, Janelle found strength in pursuing her education.

A noteworthy facet of Janelle's success is her active involvement in the Peer Advisors for Veteran Education (PAVE) program. Joining PAVE in the fall of 2023, Janelle swiftly distinguished herself with exemplary skills in veteran advocacy. Progressing through the ranks, she began as a Peer Advisor and currently holds the esteemed position of a respected Team Lead.

Janelle is the first individual to be acknowledged under this new initiative, highlighting the committed work carried out in the Military Veteran Service Center (MVSC).

UNLV RebelVet Student Organization Introductions

We would like to begin by honoring and offering our deepest condolences to the UNLV family, especially those grieving the loss of ChaJan “Jerry” Chang, Patricia Navarro Velez, and Naoko Takemaru whose lives were taken by the tragic event that took place last week on our campus.

We wanted to briefly introduce ourselves and make ourselves available during these difficult times.
