Many of us feel the sting of these fresh wounds. We long for healing, and while we have made progress as a community, we are not there yet.

We cope by leaning on one another and lifting one another. We start by naming what we see – racism and violence – and condemning it. Leaning and lifting also take many forms that go beyond words of concern to action.

We will share anti-racist and self-care opportunities in the coming days.

Our students tell us that being part of the University of Kentucky College of Education is having the best of both worlds – the expanse of possibilities of a big school, with the closeness of a small community of students, faculty, and staff who know them, cheer for their successes, and encourage them.
