Shoutout to troop 2983! They recently took their cookie money and went on a cruise to the Bahamas!
Troop leader, Amber Frye said, "The trip was amazing! The girls had wonderful time...from the shows, to the Bahamas, to the all you could eat ice cream and so so much more!!
Icing on the cake was I wrote a note and sent along a case of Girl Scout cookies to the ship captain explaining to him how hard the girls had worked to save money to go on this cruise. I explained the girls were silver and bronze award winners for their community service and how much they would love to meet the captain and learn more about the ship!! Well, the letter (and cookies) worked. The captain invited us up to the bridge and spent over an hour and a half talking with the girls and explaining how they navigate and run a ship the size of a small city!! Was such a cool experience!!"
The council loves seeing and hearing about ALL your Girl Scout travel experiences! Post your pictures below....

Girls had a wonderful time learning about animal behavior with the staff at Allie's Walkabout!
Staff members walked girls through the basics of animal behavior, dog grooming, and what it takes to start a business. Allie's Walkabouts was first started when Allie was 9 years old. The girls attending this program were able to discover opportunities for entrepreneurship by learning about her story.
At the end of the program, girls were encouraged to play with the dogs and model positive ways to interact. There was also an opportunity for girls to guide a dog through a trick!
Allie's Walkabouts is a fun off-leash doggy daycare! More information can be found here: https://allieswalkabout.com/
