Our amazing The Libertyville Fire Department taking care of our community!
This is a bit long winded, But please read on:
Recently, LFD responded to a fire alarm at StoryPoint Libertyville. A dryer fire in an industrial dryer activated the alarm. The fire alarm system notified staff, the fire department, and occupants. Fire doors automatically closed when the alarm went off, limiting the spread of smoke. Staff responded and utilized working, nearby fire extinguishers to control the fire. Fire crews arrived to complete extinguishment, do overhaul and help with initial cleanup. A third layer of fire protection, the fire sprinkler system, was not even needed for this fire due to the early notification and quick response of their staff.
This is a win for fire prevention. The Fire Department requires businesses to maintain fire alarm systems (which includes the fire doors) and have working fire extinguishers throughout their building. This is why....
We like to share stories like this when these systems prevent major incidents and people do the right thing. Kudos to the staff at Story Point in Libertyville for acting quickly and stopping what could have led to a disaster.

Just a heads up if your water looks/tastes different. Reach out to the Village of Libertyville, Illinois if you have any questions or concerns.
Please be advised beginning at 8:00 AM on Tuesday November 7th the Village’s Lake Michigan drinking water supplier, Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (CLCJAWA), will temporarily disrupt their service to the Village due to a scheduled electrical system repair at their water treatment plant. During the planned service outage, the Village will utilize a combination of available excess storage and well water to maintain an adequate water supply for our customers. A slight taste and odor difference may be noticed when the well water is blended with the Lake Michigan water. The well water meets all IEPA standards for drinking water. We expect the service disruption from CLCJAWA to last approximately 8 to 12-hours and will post a follow-up notice when service has been restored.
