Next Chapter Book Club of Lincoln

A book club for individuals with IDD/DD that gathers weekly or bi-weekly for one-hour in a public establishment to read aloud and discuss a book!

Members and volunteers are welcome! We offer community-based book clubs for adolescents and adults with Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our members (including some who cannot read) love books for the same reasons most people do. They enjoy being transported to different worlds where they meet interesting characters and learn about exciti

On July 30th the Olmstead Advisory Committee will be having their quarterly meeting from 9:00-1:00 and it is a public meting. There will be an opportunity for public comment! I would encourage people to attend and provide comments on what we need to do to provide better Home & Community Services so people with disabilities can live successfully in society. Next Chapter Book Club of Lincoln is excited to meet and read Peter Pan for our Monday night club at Panera Bread on 14th and Pine Lake Road in Lincoln on Mondays from 6:00-7:00 pm.

Come join! Our book club is for all persons with a disability 15yrs to adult. We meet for one hour of friendship, fun, and the love of gathering around to listen and share our stories and experiences in an inclusive setting. All staff, support, family, etc. are welcome.

Book clubs have 4-8 members and at least 2 volunteer facilitators (background checked).

We meet for one hour a week to read books aloud in their entirety and encourage all reading abilities.

A one-time $35 registration fee includes a lifetime membership to Next Chapter Book Club of Lincoln from Down Syndrome Advocates in Action Nebraska - DSAA, a Next Chapter Book Club of Lincoln canvas tote, and lifetime access to all books provided through our lending library!

Book club Facilitators will distribute and collect books for book club members to borrow, read for the duration, and then return for the new book.

Scholarships are available.

Next Chapter Book Club Lincoln is a book club for adults with disabilities.

This is Lincoln's BEST book club yet!

Next Chapter Book Clubs meet once a week for one hour. We welcome all reading levels. No need to know how to read and there is no prep-just fun and friendship and connection with our communities!

Training for volunteer bookclub facilitators with openings: April, Thursday 21 and 28 and 6:30-7:45pm. This one-time training is only about an hour long.
