On August 16 and 17, the NSHS Foundation celebrated its 82nd anniversary and annual meeting in Grand Island. Our hosts, the Hall County Historical Society did a phenomenal job of helping us coordinate all events during the two days. Thank you HCHS!
It was also our pleasure to deliver an additional gift of $5,000 to the Hall County Historical Society for support of the documentary, "A Life Well Lived; An Account of David Kaufmann". With this added boost of support, the HCHS is now able to distribute the film to statewide.

The Kaufmann documentary is a labor of love, and like so many in Nebraska, Hall County is preserving their history. We are proud to be a part of their story.
We received a BIG surprise this morning before the encore screening of the David Kaufmann documentary at The Grand Theatre. The Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation presented us with a $5,000 check, which is exactly the amount we need for the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) fee. This generous gift will help us market the film to PBS stations across the country and provide us with curriculum development that can be made available to schools nationally.

We had the pleasure of meeting artist Brandon Bailey at Wild West Wednesdays at the Rock. Brandon has an intense interest in wildlife from all over the world. Over the past years, he has been invited to go to Africa and New Zealand to research various species, and fauna and flora have became important subjects in his works. "Going and living something makes it much more enjoyable to paint and draw that subject." It gives me that passion that I feel is the most important part to a piece of artwork. "Seeing the animals and how they react in their natural environment is key in creating an interesting scene that is true to that animal and their environment," states the artist. https://bbaileyart.com/
Michele Wolford and her team from Nebraska Public Media joined us to work on a Nebraska Stories segment coming in season 16 which will feature Brandon's work as well as the new trail system "Walk to the Rock". https://www.nshsf.org/walk-to-rock/
