The program is operated by hollidayshelpinghands and we had the opportunity to hear from their Executive Director Katina Holliday and VP of Business Operations Twila Proctor at our Multi Cultural Advisory Commission meeting. It was great to learn about all of their services offered in Long Beach and throughout the county!

This past Saturday, 18 compassionate community members, along with our staff, attended a Restorative Justice training facilitated by amazing Aneisa Bolton. Our office recently launched our first ever Restorative Justice program and we’re so thankful for our volunteers that are willing to serve the Long Beach community. Through this training course, each member learned the basics about restorative justice, reducing recidivism and promoting community healing. Thank you, Aneisa!

Long Beach is getting an infusion of cash to go after employers stealing from workers Getting the government to investigate wage theft cases can be "a bureaucratic nightmare," according to workers' advocates. They hope a renewed focus on the problem can ease that burden.

Long Beach woman charged with shoplifting 30 times in the last 8 months Prosecutors called her a “chronic criminal,” and alleged she would sometimes steal from the same TJ Maxx multiple times in a day.

Each year, the Long Beach Bar Association awards scholarships to college-bound high school students from all over Long Beach. Our Assistant City Prosecutor, Randy Fudge, is the co-chair of the Scholarship Committee and several members of our office attended the Scholarship Awards Dinner on May 30th. Last month, our City Prosecutor Doug Haubert and our Legal Technologist Byron Bolton had the opportunity to present on our GUIDES app at the International Association of Chiefs of Police Technology Conference!
Our GUIDES app is a tool for Long Beach Police Officers to look up resources for shelters, mental health and substance use and provide the information to individuals they meet in the field.
