The ClimateLB Program aims to provide $5,000 to qualifying applicants to implement climate action projects in West Long Beach.

Qualifying youth-led projects include:

🌳 Come plant trees with us in the Los Cerritos neighborhood of Long Beach on Friday, May 24th from 9am-12pm! Learn about the benefits that street trees provide to the community as we work together to plant 20 new trees for residents. This is an all-ages event, no experience is necessary and tools and equipment will be provided. Please come prepared to plant by wearing outdoor attire like close-toed shoes and by bringing sun protection and water.

Don't miss out on our City Nature Challenge this Saturday, April 27th! 🌿 Join us for a day of exploration and discovery in the heart of nature at Willow Springs Park! We'll be joined by various community partners sharing resources and have nature-based activities, such as a guided nature walk, story-time, and iNaturalist support from our field crew.

Willow Springs Park features uneven ground primarily composed of decomposed granite and mulch, providing a natural and dynamic landscape. While most of the event will take place on flatter ground, visitors can explore the diverse trails and find the most accessible entry point by viewing our event map on our website for detailed information.

🌳 We are proud to announce that our Office has planted our 400th tree this year! Along with 36 other trees, the 400th tree was planted on Pacific Avenue along the stretch between PCH and Willow Street. This planting project is bringing shade, beautification, and air quality benefits to this wonderfully walkable section of Pacific Avenue in the Wrigley neighborhood.

This feat would not have been possible without the many neighborhood volunteers and community partners participating in our free Street Tree Program. A special thanks to the Conservation Corps of Long Beach for helping us out with this and many other planting events!
