It's Womenβs Equality Day! π©·
Observed annually in the United States on August 26th, today marks the adoption of the 19th Amendment in 1920, which granted women the right to vote. β
While this was a pivotal victory in the United States, it was not an end to the struggle for womenβs rights. It wasnβt until the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that more comprehensive protections were established for historically excluded groups in the United States. Officially recognized by Congress in 1973, National Womenβs Equality Day not only commemorates these achievements but also underscores the importance of continued advocacy to achieve true gender equality. π‘
Today, women and girls continue to face significant barriers to their safety and meaningful participation in social, economic, and political life β both in the United States and across the globe. π
By continuing to promote the rights and empowerment of all women and girls, we can move closer to a world where gender equality is not just an aspiration but a reality. β¨
August is National Eye Exam Month! π
Keep your vision clear and healthy as much as possible. Basic eye exams can detect early signs of disease or damage to your eyes. Getting simple checkups and following a doctorβs orders can also greatly lower risks of more severe and future damage, and you can continue to enjoy healthy vision as you age. π‘
"Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world." β¨

June is Menβs Health Month! This annual observance encourages men and boys to be proactive in their health by implementing healthy living decisions.
This year, the focus is on improving health outcomes for racial and ethnic minority men through the theme: "Be the Source for Better Health: Improving Health Outcomes Through Our Cultures, Communities, and Connections." This theme calls on each of us to better understand how the unique environments, cultures, histories, and circumstances of racial and ethnic minority men impact their overall health.
Remember how important it is to be proactive, not just reactive, when it comes to your health. Take action and take control of your own health now. Start with small steps today. π
βToday we celebrate the fathers who always figured it out. The fathers who found a way to survive and thrive, and who helped us learn to do the same. Their resilience is a forever reminder of what we are capable of.β

It's Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! We celebrate the contributions that generations of AAPIs have made to American history, society, and culture.
Over the last 2 centuries, immigrants have journeyed to North America from East Asia, Southern Asia, Western, Central and Southeast Asia, bringing our society a rich cultural heritage representing many languages, ethnicities and religious traditions.
The people of these diverse, vibrant and growing communities have contributed to every aspect of life in North America β from the arts and science to sport, business and government.
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month offers everyone an opportunity to learn more about the history of people of Asian origin in North America and to celebrate their contributions to the growth and prosperity of our society. βοΈ

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Millions of Americans are living with mental health conditions. Let's all participate in this movement and dedicate time to eradicate stigma, extend support, encourage public education, and advocate for policies that prioritize the well-being of individuals and families affected by mental illness.
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is also important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Mental health is fundamental to our overall well-being, profoundly influencing how we navigate our daily lives.
Now more than ever, let's encourage destigmatizing mental health by normalizing the practice of taking moments to prioritize mental health care without any guilt or shame.
Take a moment to check on yourself, then check on a family member or friend. Be kind to your mind and don't forget to always take care of your mental health π§ π
