🌟 Part 3 of the Challenge is here, and Dr. Tolbert is taking it up another notch! 💪✨
Today, she's diving into the world of prolotherapy, a game-changing approach in pain management that's all about using your body's natural healing powers.
What is prolotherapy?! It involves the injection of an irritant (usually dextrose, which is a type of sugar) into the site of painful and degenerated tendons, joints and ligaments. At the Center, we usually give the injections during several treatment sessions to promote the growth of normal cells and tissues in your body. The beauty of this treatment (besides it being all-natural) is that it dates back thousands of years to Hippocrates.

Savasana (shah-VAH-sah-nah or shih-VAH-snah) is the final resting pose at the end of almost every yoga practice, and it is also a powerful tool for those living with chronic pain.
Here's how it works...
1. When you're in savasana, let go of all tension and allow your entire body to relax.
2. Pay attention to your breath, allowing it to flow freely and naturally.
3. Visualize each breath as if it's washing away the pain.
4. Notice how your body responds to the relaxation and consciously surrender any physical or mental tension .
5. After some time (usually three to five minutes), you should feel a sense of calm and relaxation throughout your body.
Savasana can be done as often as needed, especially when pain flares up. It's also helpful to practice it regularly, such as once or twice a day for 10-20 minutes. Over time, this practice can help reduce the intensity and duration of chronic pain.
As a leading authority in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Tolbert's accolades speak volumes about her expertise. Her unparalleled commitment to patient care has earned her the trust and respect of peers and patients alike. Check out her latest profile in Our Ventura Blvd.
