Prayers for a peaceful holy Triduum and a Joyful Easter to all the Faithful.

Reading 2
1 Thes 5:16-24
Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing.
In all circumstances give thanks,
for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit.
Do not despise prophetic utterances.
Test everything; retain what is good.
Refrain from every kind of evil.

May the God of peace make you perfectly holy
and may you entirely, spirit, soul, and body,
be preserved blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The one who calls you is faithful,
and he will also accomplish it.

Marie Slaton was more than a mentor to me, she was a dear friend. She showed deep kindness and compassion to each and every young child, every struggling parent, every older person who ever entered the religious education office. She was a vital support person to the Early Childhood Board, hosting numerous board
events at Saint Monica's. She will be greatly missed by many.

Helen Marie Slaton of Santa Monica CA. died on December 7, 2022. Marie was born in Evansville, IN on March 13, 1947 to the late Joseph and Mary Helen (Turner) Slaton. She was a graduate of University of Southern Indiana with a Master in Education, and was Director of Religious Education for Our Lady of Malibu Catholic Church. Marie loved to travel, had visited all 52 states and had been overseas. She enjoyed photography and loved her dog Tedi Tid Bit. We remember with great fondness, Marie Slaton, former Director of Faith Formation at Saint Monica's Santa Monica. Marie is survived by her brother Alan (Patricia) Slaton, Princeton IN; sisters Patricia Meuth, Brighton, CO and Ilean (Dan) Kremer, Marysville, IN, her nieces, nephews and many friends.
A mass of Christian Burial was be held on March 4, 2023, at St. Wendel Catholic Church with burial at the church cemetery.

We honor Associate Board Member Mary Agnes Hunt who passed away on January 2, 2023 at the age of 91 and 1/2. Mary Agnes served on the E.C.C. Board for over 20 years. She retired in December, 2016. She was a beautiful person with an indomitable Spirit. Please offer prayers for her sons Pat and Tom and their family. Memorial Services will take place on January 16 with a Mass on January 17.
