We are so excited to announce our new Springboard Innovation Fellow: Abbie Sagadencky! Here’s a little bit about her:
“I have spent the last four years in the great city of New Orleans where I attended Tulane University. I studied Philosophy, specializing in Law, Morality, and Society and minored in Sociology and Religious Studies. The rich history of the Jewish people and ensuring it is carried through the next generation inspires me daily. I am excited to work closely with students and exploring their interests in meaningful ways at Hillel.
My free time is spent going on long walks, reading a good book, listening to live music, and spending time with friends and family.”
Abbie will be starting later this summer. We can’t wait for you all to meet her!
It’s our Assistant Director’s birthday! Everyone wish Meg a happy birthday!

They have shown us through their actions what being is and to never shy away from being anything other than that. In their own words, here’s what they say being is.

We’ve all felt the drastic rise in anti-semitism and anti-Israel sentiment on our campuses in the wake of October 7th. Hillel and SSI on May 10 from 3-4:30 PM are offering another safe space to share our experiences, and hear how we are coping, and come together as proud Jews and process how hard it has been to have lost friends, toxic social media, and carry the heartache of our brothers and sisters who have been wounded, captured, and killed. CSUN Student Services Counselor Eugene will be there along with Hillel staff to help with comforting and being there for each other. This is NOT an educational class or political debate, this is a sharing circle and space for emotional support.
Hillel 818 is so excited to be participating in , May 13-17 🌎❤️✡️ ALL gifts to Hillel 818 during Global Giving Week will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $16,000! To donate and support Jewish students when they need you most, visit give.hillel.org/hillel818 from May 13-17
