Clayton has been involved in volunteering at The Cabbage Patch since 2018. In addition to actively participating in Patch Partners (The Cabbage Patch’s group for young professionals), he also volunteers at various events and programs, including the Champions Event, Golf Scramble, Seed to Table program, Patch birthday parties, the annual Bowling Bash fundraiser, and most recently, the Animal Encounters Camp zoo field trip.

His reason for volunteering is drawn from 1 Peter 4:10: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.”

He’s excited about The Patch’s century-long impact on the community and believes that with ongoing support from staff and volunteers, it will continue making a difference for another 100+ years.

For over 32 years, Rev. Dr. Calvin Holloway devoted himself to guiding The Cabbage Patch kids and families through life’s challenges with unwavering dedication and prayerful support. In honor of his remarkable career and profound impact, The Cabbage Patch Board of Directors established the Rev. Calvin Holloway Endowment Fund in 2021.

This fund ensures that Calvin’s legacy continues to touch countless lives and that his mission of hope and transformation endures long after his retirement. This summer, the Great Smoky Mountains became more than just a backdrop for our youth during The Cabbage Patch’s Travel Camp. It was a journey of discovery and growth.

Among ancient peaks, Cabbage Patch campers didn’t just learn how to pitch tents and build fires—they learned resilience and the power of teamwork navigating white-water rapids. Late-night campfire chats sparked friendships that will last a lifetime, igniting a passion for adventure and spiritual connection.

Research shows time spent in nature positively impacts children’s physical and emotional development. This outdoor adventure camp, sponsored by Kosair for Kids Healthy Summer Camps, helps children see a world of opportunities available to them.
