Aerial Silks vs Aerial Sling
What’s the difference? Which should I do or start with?

Many beginners often confuse sling with silks when they first start their aerial journey. While silks and sling share similarities, they are distinct apparatuses.
Silks consist of two panels of fabric suspended from the ceiling, and they are what most people envision when they think of aerial performances. Learning silks can be challenging, as it demands considerable grip strength to support your body weight. For this reason, we recommend starting with sling if you’re new to aerial. However, our beginner silks classes are open to everyone!

Sling, sometimes called fabric or hammock, emerged around 25 years ago as a versatile aerial apparatus. It's a single piece of wide, silky fabric that forms a loop at the bottom, making it easier to support your weight and requiring less grip strength than silks. Sling is perfect for beginners, offering a fun way to learn aerial tricks, build strength, improve flexibility, and even aid in spinal decompression. It’s a fantastic starting point before progressing to silks, lyra, or other apparatuses.

Aerial Arts is a type of practice or performance in which one or more artists perform aerial dance and acrobatics while hanging from a fabric. And we can’t wait to share the magic of aerial arts with you at our grand opening on Saturday. We have some fun planned that you won’t want to miss, including an aerial performance every hour. 🤩
