Deo Volente exists to assist global ministries with the conceptualization, strategy, and initial project implementation of church planting and evangelism initiatives.
This month we had the honor of partnering with several churches and organizations to bring together about 300 Nepali and Bhutanese diaspora for a time of worship, prayer, collaboration, and equipping in church planting and evangelism.
We praise God for what he did during this time and give a special thank you to all of the partners and volunteers who made this possible! This includes:

2021. Global turmoil. Raging pandemic. Supply chain disruption. Economic fallout. Yet, the LORD is advancing His Kingdom. We have seen Him plant 2,495 new churches and welcome 35,141 new believers in 2021 through the direct ministries of Deo Volente.
How do we look at this? Simply… as a privilege… a privilege to be allowed to be on the playing field… a privilege to be used.
Did you know? Here are some insights to discuss around the dinner table this holiday season.
From all of us at Deo Volente, Merry Christmas.
Did you know that populations in Africa are increasing compared to birth rates in the world's major economies? Did you know that Nigeria will surpass the USA and be third in most populous countries globally by 2050? Did you know that Islam has a 100-year strategy? How does this affect our objectives for advancing God's Kingdom?
Our research has uncovered insights regarding the future of Africa and the globe. Our intent is to share these findings to help inform future evangelistic and church-planting strategies.

While there is a lot of heaviness in the world right now, and we are joining with the prayers, we wish we could share this celebration cake with you. We move forward with both "tears and tambourines" as a dear friend once shared with us.
We shared a video earlier of some of the highlights of what God has done over this past anniversary year, which are pretty sweet. We are trusting God for even greater things in this next year, especially with the vast and dire need laid before us.
Izad stood intentionally in the public park. The cacophony of city sounds kept him ever-present to where he was. Waves of discourse of those walking by crashed in and out of earshot.
His hands were filled with cans of powdered milk to give away. He handed a supply to an Afghan family who was walking with a newborn, scribbled down their number, and began to fervently pray for them.
As he kept in contact with them, he discovered that their newborn was diagnosed with cancer that required surgery. The family's current lodging was the refugee camp. Their pockets were empty. Their network was gaunt. Fortunately, the government funded the baby’s surgery. While this surgery was paid for, the family still went hungry, as they lacked basic supplies not only for the baby but themselves.
Izad provided the family with much-needed diapers, baby formula, and food for the family. After the baby had recovered from the surgery, he invited them over and they heard the Gospel for the first time. Although they came from a very religious background in Afghanistan, this love had opened a door. Please pray for this family as they continue to meet and hear more stories from the Bible, and to come into a saving encounter with Jesus.
Thank you for your prayers for Izad, as well as our field leaders. You can find out more about Izad here: https://buff.ly/2UnQbCr
True partnership involves both giving and receiving. It sounds so simple and obvious, but as Westerners coming from a culture that highly esteems self-sufficiency and independence, it is an important foundational principle worth revisiting. We are humbled to have the opportunity to collaborate with such excellent, Kingdom-minded mission organizations.
Imagine a single cluster of grapes being so heavy that it required two men to carry. These leaders from Numbers 13 and 14 carried this undeniable, tangible evidence for miles. Evidence of a land bursting with life and steeping with potential. Evidence of a land they ached for and a land God was calling them into by faith.
And yet, only two of these twelve leaders responded in faith over fear. For the majority of these leaders, the obstacles to entering the land overshadowed the calling. When the majority of these leaders took inventory of their own ability to conquer the land—instead of God’s ability—they felt as small as grasshoppers.
As our team reflected on this passage this week, we let the weight of its significance sink in. How it applies to us as an organization in how we collaborate with others is extremely important. We aim to assist other organizations to enter the full scope of what God is calling them into by faith—not fear. We want to be found to live like the two, and not the ten.
Starting at age 9, Izad* had suffered severe child abuse by his step-mother including several murder attempts. In desperation at age 16, he fled to Turkey alone, afraid for his life as he learned of another plan to end his life over inheritance issues. He became deeply depressed living alone as a minor in Turkey. He was invited to a church by a translator from a humanitarian organization. He decided to go to the church so that he could tell everyone there to return to Islam. Instead, he heard at the church that God loved him and so did the people at this church. He was overwhelmed.

We love this upside-down lens that Oswald Chambers gives us. It's the lens with which we want to approach our 2021 year, and truly, everything else.
Lord willing, we are looking forward to taking some intentional time in prayer in these first few months. If you are interested, let us know! We would love to pray with you.
Here's a few highlights from our 2020 year!
Despite some challenges with the global pandemic, God continues to prove himself just as powerful and faithful as ever. We also celebrated our first year as a ministry! Look for more of how God has moved in our annual report later next year.

What is one opportunity that your organization has taken in response to the global pandemic?
For us, we saw an opportunity to collaborate with four major networks in South Asia to launch a medical and food outreach in order to spread the gospel. While this wasn’t a normal initiative for us, we were all humbled and floored by the results. Look for more on that story soon!
How about you? How are you pivoting? We’d love to hear from you in our comments below!

"Deo Volente" is Latin for "Lord willing."
We are a following organization. We will follow the Lord and we subordinate our strategic planning principles to the leading of the Lord. We will not drive solutions, we will pray and be His instruments. He will be the One to open doors.

God, in His Sovereignty, has allowed this major disruption to enter our ministries, our economy, our very lives. Our focus is consumed with survival and the realities of dealing with a new normal. Things are confusing and fluid. We are faced with new information each day. There is little time to consider what lies ahead. Most ministry organizations do not have research functions to provide input to future decisions.
We at Deo Volente do; that is our calling.
Our team recently published the article below, which we hope will be valuable to you and your organization.
