Eboard Birthday Spotlight 🎂⭐️

Sarah Baban is the current advertisement co-chair of our chapter. She’s a sophomore computer science major who joined SHPE since freshman year. In November 2023, she attended her first National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah and came back inspired and motivated to become part of the eboard. Since starting college, she competed in her first hackathon during the previous spring semester and according to her, “this won’t be my last”. She’s eager to learn, looking forward to the 2024 National Convention, and what she can do to promote SHPE on campus.

Charlie Flores is the current Treasurer of our chapter. She’s a senior Mechatronics Engineering major and a member of multiple student organizations on campus. She has not only attended the SHPE National Convention twice since 2022 but also the ALPFA Regional Student Symposium and their other conventions. In 2023, she was awarded the Outstanding Leader of the Community Award by the HOLA program for playing a huge role in the reactivation of the KSU ALPFA chapter and serving as their VP of Finances who helped fund students for conferences and conventions and brought them to experience the professional world.

Starting off Women’s History Month right ✅ by announcing our Member of the Month is Marlen Ibarra 👸🏻🎉 CONGRATS !
Marlen won the most votes 🗳️ out of everyone in our General Body Meeting and GroupMe as well! Marlen joined SHPE this school year and has been very committed! She is always putting in the work and time into the 🔥 SHPEtinas Committee 🔥 and never fails to help out in any way that she can!

🤝Give a helping hand as we visit Osborne High School, who has a majority Hispanic population! Many volunteers are needed for providing MOCK INTERVIEWS for these students!

Generación Latina INC. is a nonprofit that empowers minority youth. Let’s get them interview ready❗️

SHPE and ASCE have partnered with ARCO Construction company to bring you a night of networking! This event is geared towards Civils, Architecture, and Project Management members. Pizza will be provided! Business casual ❕

For the FIRST time, SHPE KSU will be allowing everyone of our members the opportunity to submit their own design for our shirts this year!

This is a very unique opportunity and there are NO rules as to what the design includes, including color. The ONLY regulation is to have our sponsors (listed on shpeatksu.com) on the design.
There are two designs, one for SHPE the other for SHPEtinas and you have the option to do both or one. The design includes front and back. DEADLINE IS FEB. 19th!
