Congratulations to Sammy, our newest Tenderfoot scout and Lily, our newest Life scout! It’s fabulous to truly see the Trail to Eagle as it develops!

Congratulations to Sharon for completing National Youth Leadership Training course this past week. And a shout out to Rachel, who served on staff as the female SPL, and Mr. Kauffman who served as ASM Administration.

New name. Same great program!

The Boy Scouts of America today announced that it will rebrand to Scouting America, reflecting the organization’s ongoing commitment to welcome every youth and family in America to experience the benefits of Scouting. The change will go into effect on February 8, 2025, the organization’s 115th anniversary.

This past weekend was Catawba Lodge's Spring Fellowship and Ordeal. Troop 139 had a very memorable weekend. Ms. Hanzo and Lily went through their Ordeal and become OA members. Sharon completed Brotherhood. Mr. Kauffman and Rachel were selected for the Vigil Honor and will sit their vigil at Fall Fellowship in October.

Don't forget Troop 139's spring Court of Honor is tonight at 7pm. Parents and siblings are strongly encouraged to attend to learn what Troop 139 has been up to since December.

Troop 139's Rachel served as Senior Patrol Leader for this past weekend's S.E.A.L.S. course. Mr. Kauffman served as Assistant Scoutmaster for Program, and will be the Course Director/Scoutmaster for November's course.

Congratulations to our newest scout, Sammy, achieving Scout rank! As she begins her journey, we are excited to see Emily closing in on Eagle by achieving her Life rank! Way to go scouts!

Yesterday MCC celebrated our 2023 Eagle Scouts, including Troop 139's very own Rachel!

It was a great day at the Mecklenburg County Council’s Scouting Celebration of Achievement today. We recognized our 2023 Eagle Scouts, NOESA award winners, Silver Beavers and more!

Scouting For Food pick up day yesterday!

Scouting For Food today! Thanks to all the scouts that put out tags today alll over Mecklenburg County. Next Saturday we’ll be out to pick up the non-perishables!

Congratulations to two wonderful scouts! Annabelle archieved her Tenderfoot rank! Lily T. achieved her Star rank! Way to go scouts!

New Adult Application Process

A new adult application process will be implemented on Monday, March 4th. At that time, the adult application process will change to require that the results of the Criminal Background Check (CBC) must be received BEFORE the new adult volunteer can assume a leadership role.

Once an adult application is processed, the person is put in “pending.” The adult leader will get an email notice informing them their registration is being processed and they are NOT TO ASSUME ANY LEADERSHIP ROLE UNTIL THE COMPLETION OF THE CBC PROCESS. The unit key 3 will also get an email.

An email will be sent to the applicant and unit key 3, stating the applicant can now be an active leader when the CBC results are acceptable.
