It was a joy to gather last night and hear from those who served on 5 of Carmel's trips to the Nations this summer.

A Carmel team, including this awesome group of students, will be serving at Joni & Friends Family Retreat- a trip that serves families who have a loved one with special needs.

Pray for them and the 9 Carmel families that are participating in the retreat over the next few weeks!

God, when we suffer - really suffer for Your name - be our comfort and guide that we might live like Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Pray for the Carmel team traveling to Kenya as they serve with our ministry partner, Mercy Nairobi and the team there!

Pray for our team of Carmel adults and families heading to Thailand to serve alongside Alyssa Miller at Lifepoint Church in Bangkok.

God, may we sacrifice ourselves so that Your Spirit breaks the enemy's power and shows us how different our lives can be when lived in true freedom. Amen.

Tonight's the BIG FINALE when CarmelKidz campers get a recap on all they've learned this week at CAMP iD. Pray for open ears to hear the voice of God and soft hearts to respond to His goodness and love. Pray for all the volunteers who have invested their time and talents to impact these kids in a profound way. And pray for everyone's safe return tomorrow - that the fire stoked in them this week would be carried with them, wherever they go.

This summer for the Carmel family has been full of opportunities to serve both here in Charlotte and around the world! Jennifer McNaughton from our Bolivia team shared how the Lord was at work during their time serving at SutiSana in June:

“Part of our time there was spent hosting a women’s retreat based on Ephesians 2:1-10. It was broken into 4 parts: Created, Called, Redeemed, and Walking in Good Works. We had teaching sessions, small group discussions, and craft times during the retreat. Team members were split into different groups with the SutiSana artisans and employees. It was amazing how comfortable they felt and opened up when sharing. Picture 2 is from the bracelet-making time we had. It was so fun to see the women relaxed and creating beautiful things for themselves and others.”

We are praising the Lord for how He is at work around the world and for the opportunity we have as a church to partner with ministries like SutiSana in the work they do for the glory of God!

Pray for our team of students at CLT Serve this week as they partner with local ministries, gain experience sharing the gospel and serve the Nations that are represented right here in our own city.

God, help us come into prayer fully free from past offenses and hurts - knowing that if we do, You will be free to forgive us for what we've done against You and answer our prayers. Amen.
