We wish to extend our condolences to The Malden Police Department and the family of Malden Police Commisioner Salvatore "Butch" Gennetti.

A true Icon of Malden. It goes without saying that law enforcement lost a brother, but The City of Malden lost a son.
Thank you Butch for more than half a century of dedicated service.

Rest easy "Commish"

Thoughts and prayers go out to Springfield PD Patrolman Nestor Santos. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Springfield Police Officer Nestor Santos was shot in the face and leg on Wednesday night. He is currently in a Boston area hospital and has a bullet fragment lodged in his head. He has had one surgery, and Doctors were able to save his eye, but he will likely lose his vision in one eye. He will likely need several more surgeries before he is released. During this incident, seven suspects were arrested and seven illegal fi****ms including an AR-15 style rifle were recovered.

A big thank you to the WEEI Boston's Sports Original and the The Greg Hill Foundation for helping to raise money for Officer Santos and his family for an extended stay in Boston and any medical bills.

If you would like to donate to help Officer Santos please do so via the Greg Hill Foundation. www.thegreghillfoundation.org They are matching donations up to $7500.

In 1962, President Kennedy issued the first proclamation for Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Police Week to remember and honor law enforcement officers for their service and sacrifices.

Peace officers from across the country and around the world will converge on Washington DC this May 12-18 to honor the 137 Peace Officers and 25 Police K9's killed in the line of duty in 2023.

We will never forget their sacrifice
