Grind City Empowerment

Our 16U boys ended the summer season in great fashion winning the Memphis National Championship tournament. Boys went 5-0 on the weekend playing some of the best basketball they have played all season. This class of 2026 boys have had a great spring and summer. Just a bunch of tough, gritty kids that get it out the mud. Everyone got better and are ready to make a splash for their upcoming junior seasons in high school. Wish nothing but the best for this group. Great things ahead for them. 💛🩵

Our Grind City 8th grade girls finished up their Indiana trip going 5-2. They competed in both the Hoosier Heat and The Under Armor GUAA Session II event. Great overall experience for the girls as they competed against some good national competition. These girls are getting better and better. Class of 2028 is on GREAT hands!! Great job ladies!! 🩵💛💜

Battle of the Bluff 8th grade division champions!!! (Beat a 9th grade team in the chip). Getting high school ready as they prepare for high school workouts and team camp in June. Very special group of 2028 girls. Next up is Live at LakePoint in Emerson, Ga. Let’s get it!! 💛🩵💜

Our 14U Grind City boys went to Cape Girardeau, Missouri for the Reebok series Cape Girardeau Classic this weekend and finished as runner-ups in the 8th grade division. Hard working group that will be deadly by the end of the summer. S/0 to coach getting this group together in a short amount of time and always having them be competitive. Congrats fellas let’s bring it home on the next one. 💛💙

Grind City/UED Elite 2028 Girls went 3-1 in the first GUAA Live Period in Manheim, Pennsylvania. These girls competed and battled against some good national competition. And they did it with ONLY 6 players! So so proud of this group of girls. 2028 is in GREAT hands!!! Now it’s back to the lab to get even better. It will be even scarier with the full team on deck. Great job ladies. 💜💛💙

Congratulations to our Grind City/UED 8th grade girls as they are the DMG Spring Fling 8th grade CHAMPIONS!!!! The girls went undefeated over the weekend. They have been playing great team ball and defense over the past couple weeks as they prepare to hit the road for the UAA circuit. Great job ladies!!! Let’s keep it going.

Congrats to our 10th grade Grind City Boys for winning the DMG Spring Fling High School division Championship!!! Team went 5-0 over the weekend playing against some good solid competition. Boys will be ready to hit the road soon and play against some good circuit teams. Always good to get that first championship of the spring/summer under our belt. This is a tough group. Excited to see what the rest of the season brings. 💛💜💙

On Saturday April 13th our Grind City Basketball organization participated in the Mid South Food Bank Feeding the Need at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. It was a great opportunity for our youth to get out in the community and be a great help to those in need. They assisted with the preparation of bagging and boxing up food and also just being a friendly and welcoming face for the people that came and picked up the food items. We are very proud of these students athletes as well as the parents that also participated. We as an organization look forward to future events where we can get out and be apart of helping and supporting our community.

Grind City Elite 15U boys ended the summer on a great note. 15th Annual End of Summer Showdown 9th Grade Gold Bracket Champions!!! Went undefeated over the weekend and played exceptionally well. Great group of kids with a bright future. Sophomore season loading ⌛️. 💙💛💜

Came to Houston and handled the biz!! Your 15U CERTIFIED Kingwood Classic Champs!!! The boys locked in and went undefeated over the weekend. Great effort and energy. Proud of these boys. The best is yet to come.

Grind City Elite 15U boys went 4-0 over the weekend in the Memphis Hardwood Classic. Team went undefeated while beating 3 16U teams in the process. Our core players have been solid while we have been seeing great improvement from our key guys off the bench. Next stop is Houston, Tx to take on some great road competition during the live period.

Mane what a weekend in the Cape! Although we came up short of our goal of taking gold in both the 7th & 8th grade divisions I couldn’t be more proud of these young men! All eight 7 graders held their own in the 8th grade division while also making a name for themselves in the 7th grade division. S/O Coach Andre Tyler for holding it down with the 8th grade team. We only had two 8th graders on the trip and they did not disappoint. Collectively this group of 10 played 6 games on yesterday and 3 games today and they were exhausted!!! We will continue to trust the process and keep building. Long summer ahead of us and we built for it! Great job and Coach Dre Tyler!!
