Evan Palmer was only 18 months old when his parents, Greg and Ki Soon, enrolled their son at Harwood Center. It didn’t take long for him to blossom.

“Socially, Harwood helped Evan a lot,” Evans parents said. “The teachers were so good. The whole staff there was great. Harwood put Evan on the right track.”

Evan stayed at Harwood until he was 3 years old, then his family moved to South Carolina to be closer to their hometown. Since leaving Harwood, Evan continued to show tremendous progress. He participates in the Special Olympics – bocce and bowling being his go-to sports; he enjoys video games and playing on his iPad; he also plays baseball and basketball.

Greg and Ki Soon credit Harwood for building a solid foundation for Evan so he could become a happy, healthy adult.

“He’s one of the sweetest, kindest people you’d ever want to meet,” his parents said. “He’s always smiling and hugging people. He’s loving.”

Meet Will, a student at Collierville's Mid-South Gifted Academy. Will received support from Harwood when he was younger, and today, he's thriving. His mom, Amber, said sending Will to Harwood was lifechanging.

"Harwood gave Will the foundation to be successful. There's no telling where he would be without Harwood. Now he's in a school for gifted kids, he's excelling, doing fantastic and he's social. Thirteen years ago, when he graduated from Harwood, I saw his potential and that anything is possible. Harwood is what made that happen."

No need to panic! Our kiddos and staff crawled under the tables this morning to practice their earthquake safety drills.

Congratulations to Lead Registered Behavior Technician Monique Ray who celebrated three years at Harwood! For her three years of service, she was gifted a Harwood backpack. Congrats, Mo!
