“Where are they Now”
Today we are highlighting another OG, Lauren Taylor. Lauren was a dance student of Mrs Kathalene at the tender age of 2 & came over to DanzHouse at age 7 when we opened our doors.
This is what she had to say about what’s going on with her these days;
I graduated in August with a Bachelors of Science in Dance with a concentration in Pedagogy. Formally, I worked as a dance and music history teacher in Metro Nashville Public Schools but decided to move back to Memphis to work within the arts community that fostered my passion for dance.
One of my favorite memories was working with Ms.Yolanda on my first solo “Sunrise Waltz.” She is the reason I love ballet so much.

Since graduating from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with my degree in Biology, I have started selling Mortgage Life Protection Insurance. I’ve found the work to be a new challenge for me and a very rewarding one being able to help families protect each other and their assets. My most memorable DanzHouse moment, out of the many I have would have to be our dance One Girl Revolution. It was such an empowering and liberating number that I always had fun performing. Even down to the costumes, it felt like we were young women on top of the world without a care in the world. Overall, DanzHouse gave me lifelong friendships and the best memories to look back on. Miss you guys❤️❤️❤️
Codi is a former DanzHouse student who is now a nursing student
DanzHouse-“Where are they Now” kicking the week off we are highlighting “Codi Smith”. Codi danced on our company Competition team for many years. She always represented DanzHouse well in competitions and dance conventions.
This is what she had to say about what’s going on with her now…..
I’m currently attending the University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing. I will be graduating from the program December 15, 2023. I’ve really enjoyed my journey in nursing school because it has allowed me to become knowledgeable about so many things that happen in the healthcare world. After I graduate, I hope to work in the icu as a Registered Nurse and move to Dallas, Tx. I have so many memorable moments at Danzhouse that it’s so hard to choose, other than dancing alongside my dance sisters at competitions and practices. I would say being able to travel to different conventions and learn different styles of dances from some of my favorite choreographers was always so enjoyable to me! Also being able to choreograph for the Grizz girls was something I will never forget! Danzhouse gave me so many opportunities that I am forever grateful to have endured. Love you guys💜

Today we are highlighting another OG, “Kamryn Vaulx”. Kamryn was one of our original Company dancers for many many years. We are so proud of her and all of her accomplishments thus far. Here’s what she had to say…
Im still dancing!!! After graduating in 2020 with a Dance and Business degree, I’ve been living in NYC pursuing dance and modeling. I’ve had the opportunity to dance with multiple companies, such as Motus The Company, Shinsa, and Project Tag NYC, allowing me to hold on to my versatile dance background. Living in NY has allowed me to stay connected to all the creativity around me and work with some amazing musical and visual artists!
I’m so blessed to still have dance as such a big part of my life and I miss my DanzHouse days so much ! :,) One of my favorite memories was the Teen Company going to Detroit for DTH’s Summer Intensive. It was a great bonding moment for us all and we enjoyed getting the chance to learn from such a well known dance company. And of course our road trips were the best! :) 💜
