Excited to officially announce I am joining the CAM (Creative Arts Memphis) family as a new team member! Today, me and my colleague had the honor of being introduced during the CAM Awards & Exhibition Program at the Brooks Museum in Memphis. I’m thrilled to work with CAM fellows as their college applications coach, helping these incredibly talented young people take the next steps in their educational journeys.
A huge thank you to Derek Patterson, the Executive Director of CAM, for believing in us and bringing us on board. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to support these amazing students.
If you want to learn more about the CAM program and the fantastic work they’re doing, visit www.camsummer.org. Also swipe to see a few stunning art pieces from the students’ exhibit at the museum today.
🫶🏽Love these people!! Always a great time catching up with the Dream Team… missing Kelly 🥹 but these two will always have my support.
Dinner and catching up with this beauty. My career has afforded me the awesome opportunity to connect with individuals that I admire and love. This woman is one of those gems that God brought into my life. My old boss turned big sister is such a blessing. I am pretty sure of God’s favor because He seems to knit me to greatness. 💖✨
Early dinner with this beauty! One of the blessings of my life is meeting fellow school counselors and educators along the journey who become a part of my village. This shining star keeps me in stitches whenever we connect and catch up. To think she didn’t even like me when I first started working with her, lol. She loves me now, and I love my old co-worker. One day, we will collaborate on something 🫶🏽
This black girl’s journey has been shaped by some incredible people. It’s been 10 years since I traveled to Miami to spend time with my old BFF, Brianna, and her family. Brianna’s influence, which I discuss in my book A Black Girl’s Journey: The College Years, played a significant role in my life. Her dedication and excellence in high school inspired me to pursue higher education. Being a year ahead of me, she exemplified positive peer pressure. The commitment to growth and education she and her husband have instilled in their children is truly admirable. I’m grateful for the connection and lifelong friendship Brianna has brought into my life.

Sometimes, in the hustle of our careers, we overlook the subtle power of simply listening, caring, and being genuinely present for others. In a world where being self-consumed is often the norm, it’s easy to forget the impact of these small acts of kindness.
Recently, I was humbly reminded of this when a coworker handed me a note, expressing gratitude for the support and understanding I offered. This small gesture was a powerful reminder of how impactful listening can be.
It’s moments like these that reinforce the value of empathy and active listening in our professional lives. They are not just soft skills, but core ones, essential to any successful career. I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences on how listening has played a role in your professional journey.
KC when I texted the Dream Team a few weeks ago about us getting together, none of us knew God had other plans. We are blessed to have known, served, and worked with you. We lift your family up in our prayers and carry the legacy of excellence we bonded over. Rest in His peace Kelly Carter… 🥹🪽 we love you. We’ll see you on the other side 💗
Building meaningful connections with students isn't just a bonus – it's essential. As school and college counselors, our impact goes beyond academic guidance. It's when we show genuine care and invest in their personal growth that our support truly matters. These relationships empower students to make informed, qualitative college decisions that pave the way for their success. Let's champion the power of mentorship and guidance in shaping brighter futures.
It takes a lot to get a old woman out the house on a Friday night after a long work week, but I would do it for .iris.eberle 💜🤍. 🎓 Excited to Embark on a New College Application Season! 🌟
Hey everyone! As we gear up for another thrilling college application season, I'm thrilled to share my enthusiasm for supporting students on their transformative journeys. 🚀
To all the aspiring scholars out there, here's my nugget of wisdom I've seen hold true time and again: **"The best version of yourself is authentically being you." Tasha Burnett** 🌈
🌟 Embrace Your Uniqueness: Each one of you is a constellation of talents, passions, and experiences that sets you apart. Don't shy away from showcasing the real you in your applications. Admissions teams seek individuals who are genuine and authentic.
🌟 Tell Your Story: Your journey is unlike anyone else's – it's a narrative that deserves to be heard. Share your triumphs, challenges, and growth in a way that resonates with who you are. Your story is your power.
🌟 Be Bold, Be You: College is not just about academics; it's a space to explore, evolve, and express yourself. Embrace your interests unapologetically and pursue them with fervor. Your passion and enthusiasm are magnetic.
BCCAF is here to guide you in presenting your unique brilliance to the world. Inbox us if you would like to work together to craft applications that reflect your authentic self and set you on the path to success. 🌠
Here's to a season of growth, discovery, and celebrating each student's journey. Let's make this application season one to remember! 🎉📚
